From BeerAdvocate Magazine #73 (Feb 2013):

This one caught us off guard a bit, brewers intention is a European lager of sorts though we did not expect the level of depth that the hop character brought to our palates. Balanced with a lot going on, a lot of complexity in this can. Oh yeah, very drinkable too boot. Refreshing enough to tote around in the summer and interesting enough to drink the rest of the year.

STYLE: Euro Pale Lager
ABV: 4.9%

LOOK: Pale amber hue, sudsy head

SMELL: Herbal, spicy, peppery, earthy, leafy, fresh bread, clean

TASTE: Crisp, smooth, moderate sized body, herbal, assertive bitterness, grainy, dried hay, slightly biscuity, earthy, orange zest, drying hoppy finish

I like this beer it's great!!!. I have had lots and lots of different beers, wines and distilled spirits in my travels and having lived in various countries around the world. This is a beer like the Lager/Pilsen types that I've enjoyed in the Czech Republic, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, and Hungary. The Micro brew movement in the U.S. is turning out some really world class brews. Cheers mates! and keep up the bleedin' great work!!!!!

A very crisp clean example of the style. With the dominance other styles have, it's nice to get back to the basics. Nothing special or added. Just a quality lager...

On tap at Onion Creek in Houston.

The beer pours an orange-yellow color with a white head. The aroma is extremely malty with quite a bit of toffee malt, as well as some light caramel notes. There is not much, if any, hop or alcohol character in the aroma.

The flavor is also very malty. There is a ton of toffee and caramel malt, as well as the resulting sweetness. There is also a little bit of earth character from the hops, but this is still all about the malt.

Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Poured into a stella glass. Clear golden color with good carbonation that leaves a good head and light lacing at the top of the glass. Smell is bready with some citrus and pepper. The citrus works well with the malt to make a smooth taste that is capped off with a hop finish. No alcohol aftertaste or bitterness from the hops. Medium-light body and medium-light carbonation. Very crisp and refreshing.
It has the hop profile and kick that most lagers lack. It doesn't feel too light or watered down. Lagers tend to come with low expectations, and this one was a nice surprise. I got way more out of it than I expected to. Easily a good BBQ/grill/summer beer.

Very foamy mid yellow bodied lager. Nothing interesting in aroma department. Mid mouth feel, decent drinkability despite slight acidic edge in finish. Always giving a lager an even break. Decent malting, not sweet, some spiciness. Not bad, and Vienna is a style I can like.
