This is one of my favorite beers. Malty and citrusy, which offsets the hoppy finish. Also hint of citrus and pine nuts. I like the flowery aroma. The high alcohol content sneaks up on you! I have not had it from the can, but this one on tap is hard to beat! If ever in Houston give it a try.

Local watering hole...Karbach pint night and first tastes of the season. Good...not something I could drink all night though. Lives up to the Hop factor of a DIPA. Lots of pine...lots of earthly fullness lingers long after your last sip. Continues to parade you sense of smell. Good...but not "sessionable"?? :) Happy Karbach-ing.

Texas definitely has some fine breweries, but Karbach ain't one of 'em (that is, if their other beers are similar to this one). It didn't taste hoppy how I expected it, and it tasted more sweet, like malt liquor. But for what it cost me, I could've picked up a gallon of malt liquor.

This beer isn't horrible, but it's NOT one I will be buying again.

On draft. Very heavy malt, sweet, pine spice, tamarind and earthy/grassy. Fully body and med/light carbonation. Aftertaste of rye and hop resin.

Praying this was an old can, because it was utterly undrinkable, pure booze and malt, not a shred of hops (nor even palatable malt sweetness) to reign it all in. Of course, the off apple notes, etc. tell me it probably wasn't an age issue. At any rate, If you're going to push a DIPA to 9.5%, for the love of Pete, make sure you do it well, lest it end up like this.

Really good IPA but, as with most Texas beers, it falls short compared to IPAs from the PNW, Alaska and Cali. If the water were cleaner I think this beer would be better. But, compared to other Texas beers, it's above average. I love my home State of Texas but we are just a step behind compared to other craft beer states.
