I had really high hopes for this one. I really wanted to like it.
When I poured it into a chalice, it looked great. Nice dark amber, almost mahogany color. Looked like a spectacular cold weather brew.
The aromas were underwhelming. The slight punch of hops were there and the sweetness of the malt as well, but not a lot of anything really standing out besides those.
The flavor was mediocre. Not a lot going on. Picked up a weak caramel flavor, and a little honey, but mostly, just standard hops and malt. No real spices or nuances in there.
I would say it's better than anything "big beer" puts out, but there are so many great holiday/fall/winter beers out there. I wouldn't bother with this one again.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a footed tulip.
A: Medium dark brown. Pours a 1 finger, foamy, brown white head. Settles quickly leaving a thin beer ring. Slight spotty lacing mostly retreats into the body of the brew.
S: Nuts, a little peat, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sage.
T: Bitter pecan shell is prominent, a little peat, hints of fall spice notes and herb, pepper, and slight hop bite.
M: Fairly light, yet bitterness leaves you a pungent lingering that enhances the heft. Pungent finish.
D: Sessionable, although the character will hinder the progression.
Atmosphere is pretty good. Fair head which disappears quickly, spotty lacing. Fall spice and nuts make up the nose. Bitter and spicy. Cocoa nibs noted on the label are barely evident in the nose of flavor profile. Overall, this is a decent quaff.

Bought a couple of these back in November, had 1 left over.
A - pours a dark tubby brown, decent sized head on it. Leaves plenty of lacing.
S - spices! Can definitely smell them. Malty, very slight hop aroma.
T - spices are well balanced, but nothing special. Not the best Winter Warmee I've had, but definitely not the worst. Malts are prevalent, finishes off with a slight hop flavor.
M - lightly carbonated, little thick. Very smooth.
Overall, I wouldn't seek the brew, but I'd have one if offered. Not very impressed by it.

22 oz. bomber poured into nonic
L: dark brown, 100% clear throughout the column but so dark it's tricky getting the light right so you can see it; huge thick head of tan foam -- the thing explodes and forces you to slow the pour, and the head lasts for some time, including leaving an island of foam in the center of the beer surrounded by a thick collar, looks like a moat; lots of stick off the head and some lacing on the way down
S: spices galore, much like the pumpkin ales and winter warmers I've been trying out this season; a bit of lighter sweet malt underneath the spice
T: this is *not* a pumpkin ale or winter warmer ... SPICES! tons and tons of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg ... so much spice you wonder if there's not also some chili in there; just a hint of standard light barley malt, offers a bit of sweetness, but the spice flavors never slow down
F: full but light because of the extreme amount of bubbly carbonation; it melts in your mouth
O: you want a spiced beer, here you go. if you don't, stay away -- this resembles what most of us think of as beer in the slimmest of ways
