Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a footed tulip.

A: Medium dark brown. Pours a 1 finger, foamy, brown white head. Settles quickly leaving a thin beer ring. Slight spotty lacing mostly retreats into the body of the brew.

S: Nuts, a little peat, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sage.

T: Bitter pecan shell is prominent, a little peat, hints of fall spice notes and herb, pepper, and slight hop bite.

M: Fairly light, yet bitterness leaves you a pungent lingering that enhances the heft. Pungent finish.

D: Sessionable, although the character will hinder the progression.

Atmosphere is pretty good. Fair head which disappears quickly, spotty lacing. Fall spice and nuts make up the nose. Bitter and spicy. Cocoa nibs noted on the label are barely evident in the nose of flavor profile. Overall, this is a decent quaff.

Poured into a goblet, this ale comes out with a thick dark tan head roughly a finger and a half thick and slowly thins out to about half a finger in thickness. It is very dark throughout and slight amber hues can be seen in its outer edges.
The aroma is strong and hits you as soon as you pop the top off. Strong gingerbread, pumpkin first hit your nose, mild citrus follows. Mild medicinal smells do come through.
The spices are up front and hit your tongue immediately, ginger and pumpkin are present, a mild liquorish flavor follows along with some nutmeg and cinnamon. The taste is very pleasing .
The body has medium to light mouthfeel and warms up your mouth as you drink it.
Overall this is a pretty good spice beer and I would recommend trying it .

This is the second half of the beer poured into a copper mug.
The copper seems to help the beer retain its thick head, the aroma is all but lost and is accompanied by a slight metallic smell when you can detect the ales aroma. The gingerbread is still very strong…
The spices are dulled out just a bit and to tell you the truth, I prefer the taste in the copper mug. The gingerbread and pumpkin are drummed down just a bit and the cinnamon is brought out a little more, the nutmeg is gone, but I can pick up some very mild lemon zest(probably from the copper), slight fig and coriander come out as well.
Overall I prefer the copper mug tasting, just don’t let the ale get too warm on you…

A: Extremely dark brown. With a strong light you can see it's clear. Beige/brown head that is thick and tasty. Would like it to be a bit thicker.

S: Smells like gingerbread and pumpkin spice mixed with a dark stout.

T: Lots of spices. Tastes like liquefied gingerbread cookies, but not sweet. Spiced flavor doesn't linger for too long. It melds into a dark brown ale / oatmeal stout kind of flavor.

M: Medium bodied.

O: If you want a spiced stout tasting beer, this is the one for you. Would definitely have again.

22 oz. bomber poured into nonic

L: dark brown, 100% clear throughout the column but so dark it's tricky getting the light right so you can see it; huge thick head of tan foam -- the thing explodes and forces you to slow the pour, and the head lasts for some time, including leaving an island of foam in the center of the beer surrounded by a thick collar, looks like a moat; lots of stick off the head and some lacing on the way down

S: spices galore, much like the pumpkin ales and winter warmers I've been trying out this season; a bit of lighter sweet malt underneath the spice

T: this is *not* a pumpkin ale or winter warmer ... SPICES! tons and tons of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg ... so much spice you wonder if there's not also some chili in there; just a hint of standard light barley malt, offers a bit of sweetness, but the spice flavors never slow down

F: full but light because of the extreme amount of bubbly carbonation; it melts in your mouth

O: you want a spiced beer, here you go. if you don't, stay away -- this resembles what most of us think of as beer in the slimmest of ways
