Orange in color with a fragrant nose of grapefruit, pale malt, and pine, this pale ale seems pleasant right from the start. It pours from the can with a small head of foam that leaves specs of lacing as you drink and the fragrant nose piques your curiosity to sample the beer within.

This pale ale offers a taste that is middle of the road and actually quite nicely balanced. The citrusy/piney hops take center stage, but they are balanced out by the taste of sweet, biscuit- like malts to the best of the beer’s ability. The flavor that stands out most, however, is the resinous hops. The malt balance is certainly there, but the sticky citrus and pine hops just keep coming back, even when you think the battle was already won.

This is a nicely balanced and sessionable pale ale from Karbach and yet another solid beer offering from the guys on Karbach street. The medium body and the assertive but still friendly hop profile make this a good pale ale for everyday consumption. It’s a good go- to beer and a pale ale most anyone will like.

I think Karbach makes several good beers. Hopadillo is a fine IPA and Rodeo Clown is an excellent DIPA. But there are so many great beers in those categories. Where Karbach hit the home run was with Weekend Warrior. I just don't see how an APA could be much better. I think a lot of breweries get overly enamored of their specialty malts. Too much biscuit-type malt or caramel malt mutes the glorious high notes of dry-hopped APAs everywhere you look. Not this one. The hops aroma and taste shine through like a beacon in the night (feel free to substitute your own trite cliche'). Wonderful citrus and faintly pine-y flavors in a perfectly balanced beer. Stone is great but too much bittering hops compared to aroma hops, in my opinion. Sierra Nevada, Mirror Pond, Dale's....can't hold a candle. How these beers can have a higher rating than WW on BA is a mystery to me. Zombie Dust is the only equal that I have tasted.

Poured into a pint glass. Amber golden color with a two finger, white head that recedes quickly and leaves a quarter inch of lacing. Strong aroma of piney hops and resin. Taste is pine hops and grassy malt with a bitter finish. Medium body and medium carbonation, with a slightly oily mouth feel.
Well hopped APA that is too one dimensional and slightly unbalanced. The bitterness slowly faded as the beer warmed up. A good APA but not worth getting a sixer of.
