The Warrior poured a slightly hazy golden amber with a full and fluffy white head. The aroma had tropical fruit hops with some light citrus hops and sweet malt as well. The taste followed the aroma with tropical and citrus hops all wrapped in a sweet malt blanket The overall taste profile is similar to a toned down Hopadillo which is a good thing. It has a good lingering bitterness and with enough malt to keep it light and easy to drink. The Weekend Warrior is a well crafted Pale Ale that is a welcome addition to the Karbach line-up. (539 characters)

I think Karbach makes several good beers. Hopadillo is a fine IPA and Rodeo Clown is an excellent DIPA. But there are so many great beers in those categories. Where Karbach hit the home run was with Weekend Warrior. I just don't see how an APA could be much better. I think a lot of breweries get overly enamored of their specialty malts. Too much biscuit-type malt or caramel malt mutes the glorious high notes of dry-hopped APAs everywhere you look. Not this one. The hops aroma and taste shine through like a beacon in the night (feel free to substitute your own trite cliche'). Wonderful citrus and faintly pine-y flavors in a perfectly balanced beer. Stone is great but too much bittering hops compared to aroma hops, in my opinion. Sierra Nevada, Mirror Pond, Dale's....can't hold a candle. How these beers can have a higher rating than WW on BA is a mystery to me. Zombie Dust is the only equal that I have tasted. (933 characters)
