12 oz. can poured into craft beer glass (wide stick)

L: yellow, crystal clear, 1/4-inch or so head of white foam that isn't overly thick or fluffy; almost no lacing

S: grain ... lots and lots of grain; stale grain; the malt doesn't show up in the nose until the last 1/3 or 1/4, and while it's sweet, it's very understated.

T: sweet grain (barley, maize, rice ... no major corn notes); just a hint of dry, spicy hops -- not floral/citrus/pine hops. gives it a bit of bite, just to remind you it's beer. very nice hints of sweetness at times ... good sweet malt, very light and easy going down. yes -- as it warms up a little, the malt really makes this thing smooth out with a great sweet finish.

F: strong carbonation and solid weight for such a "light" beer

O: it's good ... definitely worth a try and a perfect summer beer. i love it super cold to begin with to help fight the heat, but the beauty of this beer shows up as it begins to warm -- the malt starts coming through and gives it a great two-way flavor of spicy hop bite with the sweet malt finish.

my bet is it won't replace your favorite summer standby if you've already got one. but if you don't have one, this might be it. a solid brew and at 4.7% ABV, it's a great option for a session.

This one pours a pale golden color that is a tinge opaque and has a thin short lived head with virtually no lacing down the glass.

The nose is peppery and sharp with a moderate hop nose and a subtle yet dominant malt sweetness that everything else floats on.

The taste is a classic kolsch with a dryer maltiness than the nose that has peppery and bitter hops.

The moutfeel is a tab nit watery for this style but still acceptable and unremarkable.

Overall a drinkable beer but not my favorite. Karbach has many more to choose from that are better.

12 oz can poured into pint glass.

A - Pours a hazy yellow straw color with one finger of white head.

S - The aroma has grassy and grainy notes with a bit of citrus hops.

T - The grain is prominent in this, followed by grassy hops and some lemon. The taste is very clean with a slightly peppery end.

M - Light body with high carbonation. It's very crisp and refreshing, making for a great summer session beer. Citrus and grass on the aftertaste.

O - A great beer for summer with a refreshing hop profile.
