Awesome awesome, got a $12 package for free, gifted for my 21st birthday. Vibe is energetic yet professional. Honestly has gotten me the most hopped of the 3 breweries I've had the pleasure of visiting today.

Recently expanded, Karbach has really come into it's own as a force to be reckoned with in the Houston brewing community, certainly enough so to challenge St. Arnolds for their crown. The brewery is a nice, open outdoors location in north central Houston, with a full service restaurant separate from the tap room and brewery itself.

The taproom is a small affair, much less fancy than St. Arnolds but with a good selection still, surrounded by a goodly amount of chairs and benches for relaxing outside when it's not 100 degrees. The guys manning the taps are knowledgeable and overall friendly, possibly a tad bit shallower in their knowledge than their St. Arnolds counterparts, but they provided a good service nonetheless. The tasting, also, is a disturbingly good value, with it running circa $12 for a souvenir pint glass and 3 fills, more than enough to get you happy, especially considering some of the ABVs on offer.

The restaurant was the true standout though, rivaling many dedicated food establishments in quality and price. Your standard brewery giant pretzel was on offer, along with a surprisingly wide menu showcasing many different Houston flavors. The Korean Fried Chicken was absolutely fantastic, as were the fish and chips on offer. $12-15 a plate but worth it for the quality, Karbach has a definite leg up on any other brewery in the area with regards to food.

Overall a wonderful place to visit in the Houston area, with great food and delicious beer on tap. I didn't go on the brewery tour, so I can't speak to that, but their brewing facilities looked sleek and modern so it would surely be an interesting experience as well. Highly recommended.

Karbach has become one of the better breweries in the Houston Metroplex. The new location is nice. Someone must have done their research and traveled the country looking at what quality breweries look like.
The beer selection is great. It does get packed so be prepared. The staff is friendly and will to help with selections of beer and food. The food is good. Nothing over the top but typical brewery fair. Good stuff!

Feeling and selection are great! And the food is best I've had at a brewery. Great appetizers and entrees and always having BBH on draft makes this a great place for lunch/dinner.

Finally made it her e with my folks and the restaurant had just opened up a couple of weeks before I went.
Had a great waitress who let me try a bunch of the beers on tap. Do yourself a favor and try El Hopaillo Negro. Very nice beer.

Food was great. I had the burger and fries and it was excellent. My mom had a kale salad with fresh peaches and that was under the radar an excellent choice. My old man got the fish and chips, which were pretty solid as well. Overall, all the great Karbach brews on tap, solid food and a good atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good local brewpub in Houston.

Koozies are $1 too. Can't beat it.

Service was good. Food was pricey for what it was. Stay away from the charcuterie. Unless you like paying $25 for three small slice of meat.

My biggest drawback was that they had nothing that I couldn't walk to the nearest grocery store and get. I like to see a nice selection of brewpub only beers. They had the templeton rye quad on draft, but that was only a letdown compared to the advertised Bourbon Barrel Hellfighter (which I was really looking forward to).

At first when we walked in, we didn't see the beer garden around back. Definitely a lot cooler than the bar and brewpub area. Nice vibe. Much more chill, as well as where most of the people congregate. Nice tailgate-esque atmosphere. Really enjoyed that part.

This was my first time to Karbach and what stood out to me besides the many good beers was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They made me feel very comfortable and welcome. I did not take the tour nor did I eat in the restaurant but the food and restaurant looked a little too foo-foo for my taste. They had a ton of beer on tap and food trucks out back for a more frat-party style scene. I enjoyed myself and will go back when I have the opportunity.

Edit 5/9/2015

Karbach Restaurant and Patio is now open, and I could not be happier. As you walk in, a hostess will seat you. Either at the bar, which holds about 15 people, or at one of the tables. Booths lining the wall, and a great patio outside (though not completely finished). The place is very loud, immaculately clean, and with just enough character to keep it from being sterile/cold.

I don't know if service could be any better. Drinks come out before you know it, and kitchen times are great.

There are 30 taps in this area, with the beer garden/regular tasting and tour area that most people are familiar with. Here, there are about 20 taps for the regular and seasonal offerings. Some are doubled up. With at least 10 taps for various barrel aged beers. Tequila aged Hop Delusion, BBA Hellfighter, among many others. Regular pints are $4.50, with stuff like Hop Delusion $6, which are great price points.

Food, oh yeah, They have you covered. Korean Fried Chicken is on point at $10. A large bowl of spicy, crispy battered chicken poppers with great house made kimchi. A Canadian Poutine dish, and an amazing looking fish and chips basket, which is something this town needs more of. Some food items are a little pricey, but you get your monies worth. Fish & chips looks like it can feed an army.

A great new addition to the brewery. Everything of coarse is uber fresh as it should be. It is great to see that both Saint Arnold and Karbach can adapt and add on to their operations like this. Highly recommended.

Typical warehouse brewery and tour. Nothing to spectacular on that end, but they have plans to build a brand new facility with full public tap house and full restaurant in the future. I can't wait for that to happen.

Right now they have a Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday tour/tasting. $8 for a glass and 4 tokens. 3 are for the regular beers, and 1 for whatever special keg or cask they happen to have on at the time. Lots of picnic tables outside, and food trucks often come by.

Other than that, just the typical warehouse brewery with no air conditioning. In some ways, reminds me a lot of the old Saint Arnold brewery in the same neighborhood several years ago. A fun way to spend a few hours, especially when the weather is nice.

Residing in an industrial park, their facility and biergarten are tucked away a bit "in the back" but there's ample, clear signage to make sure you know where it is. I went while they had some heavy machinery in there expanding the place for both higher capacity and a kitchen, so it was a bit dusty and noisy, but that didn't stop anybody from enjoying themselves. Cool vibe, and will only get better once the construction is complete, good beer with roughly 10 taps to choose from. The "process" is a bit unique, you don't pay as you go, you buy tokens up front, but $12 gets you a souvenir pint glass, and three pints worth of beer. Not a bad deal, but I'd intended to walk away with a logo glass ... just not the one they were selling with the pints. Oh well, the beer was tasty, the weather was gorgeous, and everyone was friendly and chatty. Worth a check out for sure, as well as return visits.

First brewery I've been too. The beer garden is outside with all the brews you'll find at the store/bar with a few test batches and other brews you'll only get there. Has a friendly staff, a stage for live music, and a taco truck with some tasty looking treats. Appears to draw a pretty large crowd and is pet and kid friendly. The tour is pretty short but the beer garden is where you wanna be! With this all being said this place is in the process of getting better! Definitely will be coming by again once the expansion is over.
