In the interest of full disclosure, I'm related to the SBDC consultant that helped get this place open its doors. However, this fact does not render me incapable of writing my usual fair and balanced review. That aside...

This new brewpub (the second of two) is not yet brewing its own beer. That's going to be rolled out in about a year, maybe less. The brewer is currently slinging drinks at the bar, though; so if you're curious, you can talk to him about the kind of beers they're going to be offering. Personally, I'm looking forward to trying them. For the time-being, they've got a good selection of regional favorites, a few macros, and some international bottled beers (mostly from Belgium). I've got a bone to pick about their beer menu, though. It's divided roughly into style categories. One of them is "Belgium". If you're referring to a style, it needs to say "Belgian". Sorry, just a pet-peeve of mine, but I digress.

I've only been there once so far and spent a good long while at the bar chatting over a few beers. Eventually, I ordered the Bull Ridge Burger medium-rare. A tasty burger with roasted poblano, bacon, and pepperjack cheese on a pretzel bun. The pretzel bun was one of the reasons I ordered this burger. A nice touch and it holds up to the juicy burger really well. At one point, the chef came out to say hello and to remark on the fact that "I know how to order a burger... medium-rare". It's nice that they try to stay connected with their customers.

The food prices are good, but the beer prices are a tad high (by about 50 cents). 5-dollar pints in Baker City? Hopefully, when they start brewing their own, they'll lower the prices a bit. At any rate, I'm looking forward to hanging out there again. Nice vibe in the place.
