Can from a friend in Atlanta. Thanks, JC! Pours dark brown to black with a two finger khaki head. Aroma of lightly roasted malts, some sweet molasses, not much else here. Flavor is light roast and sweet chocolate, hint of bitterness to balance the sweet, smooth oatmeal characteristic. Lighter bodied in the style but nicely easy drinking, medium is carbonation. Not bad at all and a nice everyday type of stout that won't knock you in a loop if you're in the mood for roast. (475 characters)

Red Hare Sticky Stout
12 oz. can, no apparent freshness dating

Red Hare Sticky Stout pours an opaque brown-black body beneath a 1 finger thick head of tan foam that unfortunately drops quickly, leaving behind only spots of lace.

The aroma is of dark chocolate with a touch of background roastiness that's similar to cold black coffee.

The flavor is fuller than the aroma suggests, adding lots of golden and medium dark caramel to the chocolate and soft roast. Some minor yeasty fruitiness peeks through, offering apple and perhaps a touch of raisin. All of the flavor components combine well, and it's gently sweet but balanced by a restrained bitterness. It finishes fairly dry with lingering notes of dark, bittersweet chocolate.

The body is medium to medium-light, and it's really quite smooth with a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation that's just enough to rouse the taste buds.

In the current craft beer scene this beer will most likely be passed over as it's a more traditional and basic beer, but it really deserves merit. Quite charming, and certainly drinkable. Well done! (1,087 characters)
