Picked up a growler of Long Day Lager from the good good folks at Ale Yeah this evening; meant to have it over the weekend but the cap got dented on the way home and the loss of pressure prompted me to give it an early go.

Poured a hazy gold from the growler into a pint glass; carbonation was good with a frothy head foaming, but dissipated quickly. If this was due to the loss of pressure from the cap, fair enough. Looked good though and bubbles held nicely.

Faint hops, yeast, slight grass and lemon zest on the nose.

Taste was rich with smooth grassiness and mellow hop characteristic. Very pleasing.

The mouthfeel was very good; ABV wasn't highly pronounced on the pallet so this would be a great session lager.

Good first impression from Red Hare in Marietta; I was hoping to give their IPA a try, but they ran out at AY before I got there. A nice autumn lager with plenty of character. If you're introducing your BMC buds to craft beer, this would be a great way to bring them over to the dark side...

Bought a growler at Whole Foods recently. Hazy gold appearance with a decent but not over the top head. Good and fresh flavor. A step above the mass produced adjunct lagers for sure. Not in the top tier but a very drinkable lager for a hot day in Georgia. This Marietta brewery seems to know their climate, customers, and beer.

A: poured from a 12 oz can into a pint glass, golden colored with a large white head that dissipates leaving some lacing, hazy

S: light smell of grain and grass

T: light flavors of bread, grain, slight hops, very mild

M: light with high carbonation

O: one of a few Georgia brewed craft lagers, fairly average for the style
