I really have to give props to Growlers for having about 50 beers in the house and no BMC. Even some of the best beer bars I've been to have one or two taps dedicated to a Light Lager but none can be seen here.
Even though they do a good job with the emphasis on craft I do have some nitpicks. Most beer was from NY breweries. Which is fine but there were multiple taps taken up by the same one brewery. Bottle/Can selection was kind of that way too. But they didn't even have anything from Brooklyn Brewery which was odd. (at least when I went there was nothing from them) Plus the tap beer selection all ventured above 7% which is tough when you want to have a few.
I think they could mix up their bottle selection a little more by offering more breweries instead of multiple styles from the same brewery.
The bartenders all did a good job even though the place was rather busy. You can get a growler to go but I didn't see anyone partaking in that. The prices are a little on the pricey side for me but that's the price you pay for good craft in NYC.

Bar/ restuarant a block from the train station with ample parking. Spacious interior with L-shaped bar to the left of the entrance with a few tables about the room and an open patio area out front. 20 beers on tap, nice selection of styles, mostly regional. Fish tacos were very tasty. Friendly bartender; growler fills.

I had been to Growlers Beer Bistro once before. It really has a nice vibe, part beer focused eatery, part recovered industrial space, part sports bar (the Yankees were on), and part wood and chrome hang out. Wine and mixed drink are also available.
The beer selection is broad and substantial with about 16 taps, 17 canned and perhaps 24 bottled brews, reflecting a decidedly broad range of beer styles and breweries, domestic and international. I had milk stouts from two different non-contiguous state, both delicious.
The staff are attentive and knowledgeable and the service was excellent. This was the first time I had tried the food, which is fairly reasonable (by local standards) and truly delicious. This was a nice place to have a relaxed dinner; I will be back.

Great local beer spot.
All of my friends in Tuckahoe and Yonkers and other locales trek to Growlers regularly - or at least once in a while...
Growlers will fill a growler, fill a pint glass, fill a flight, offer excellent food and service as well as a friendly local crowd. Travelers and families welcome!!
Sports on the many TV's, good tunes on the radio (decent volume for conversation as well - most of the time), friendly and accommodating staff and really tasty food!
The beer selection is always diverse and posted on the board as well as on a printed menu. People know to come here for brewery takeovers and special taps, so if you know it's good - get it before it kicks!!
Come by and enjoy!

The atmosphere and the beers are the reason to come here. There is always something going on- Trivia, Open Mic, Live Band whatever. The decor is metallic and modern, giving off a young vibe.
They have twenty taps and a very good bottle selection. The beers are mostly local and fresh, they are constantly changing their options, which are readily available on beermenues.com and their website.
The people who work there are knowledgable, friendly, and quick to offer you a new beer.
The pricing is reasonable. They often have two person or four person discounts on groupon. I would wish for a longer happy hour (when the drafts are half price), but that would mean opening for lunch (weekdays they open at 4pm).
My only real complaint is that the food is often too mediocre. I enjoy their burgers, but the brioche buns are too large. I like the seasoning on the ribs but you need a knife to cut through them. And when I've had their muscles sometimes they are served without them all being open.
But like I said, you come to this bar for the beer and the atmosphere. And Growlers is well worth coming to.

Love this place - great beer selection, delicious food, and a great attitude from the owners and employees.
There's something like 12-16 taps, always rotating excellent new beers in and out. Fairly priced, and a full bar to go with them. There's one of those cool pressure-growler filler thingies, too (obviously, with the name). They also have a program to track the beers you drink, and be rewarded along the way.
The food is really, really good. The menu is small, but everything is well thought-out and delicious. Food is on the expensive side, but again, it's really, really good - not traditional bar fare by a long shot.
The employees are generally in a good mood to set a fun atmosphere, and want everyone to have a good time. There's something going on most nights - trivia, music bingo, etc... Just a great place to hang out and have a few beers.

Smaller place, sorta tucked behind the metro north station. Modern and metallic decor, the cozy bar is to the left as you enter. Friendly bartender on my only visit so far is always a huge bonus.
They must have 15- 20 quaity taps, (you can get the details on Beermenus.com) as well as a respectable bottle and can list. You will be able to find plenty of quality beer, from the usual local, regional and nationals of the craft beer world. Food wise, I had no time to sample anything, but the menu did feature snacks, sandwiches, charcuterie & Cheese plates and salads that liiked mighty tempting. Cheese plates from Murrays, again, always a bonus.
Not cheap, alas nothing is in the neighborhood, pints were mostly in the $7-8 range.
I liked the vibe in generaland the feel of the beer scene here. Go check it out if you are in the lower Westchester county, NY area. Good for a bite, lunch, dinner, with a date, or to enjoy a few pints with the guys.
