11.2oz bottle with date code notches of Dec 2011. Meaning that this bottle is really quite old, which can be either good or bad, depending on circumstances. Purchased from the clearance cooler at the store.

A. Hazy opaque amber brown, no head to speak of, a fair quantity of sediment.
S. Tons of honey smell, apples in the background, but also lots of funky mustiness.
T. Very yeasty with that spicy belgian bite we all know of. Unfortunately, there is little else there. All the apple smell has nothing at all to match in the flavor. The wet musty cardboard flavor of an over-aged beer is simply so strong that it has left me alone with it and the Belgian Yeast pepper to assault my tongue. So sad.
M. Well, I do at least like the way it sits in my mouth. The body (although sedimented) is appropriately heavy for the way I like my beer. Don't get me wrong, It's not actually heavy, merely medium-bodied.

Some beers do age well. Unfortunately this bottle, for whatever reason, has not.

Pours a hazy golden color, topped with a decent white head with a solid retention.
There is a weak malty aroma, aided by some yeasty smell too.
The taste is somewhere between bitter and sweet, All together finishing with a slight spicey feel.
A very decent beer.

Appearance: Dark golden color, slightly cloudy. Very thick white head.
Aroma: Good clean smell of  banana and spices.
Flavor: Banana and spice flavored with a sweet finish. Full bodied and good foamy carbonation.
Overall: A very good tasting beer. This is a spicy, sweet beer, with just enough hops to balance it out. The carbonation is like many Belgian Ales, not just  bubbly, but foamy to the mouth.

Bottle: a standard, solid brown 330mL bottle with a really chincy gold label with a pretty dodgy jester on it. Not a good package.

Appearance: poured into a tulip. A very hazy light yellow with a great solid finger of pure white head. Limited lacing, but the head hangs about for some time.

Aroma: quite a light and basic aroma of yeast, fruit and grain. Nothing brilliant, but refreshing.

Taste: the Belgian yeasts take the fore with some light grains and fruits backing up. Update: a very different flavour straight from the bottle - again with the yeast, but much more bitter with an odd metallic taste behind. I prefer straight from the bottle.

Aftertaste: lingers for a time, with a decent amount of bitterness.

Mouth feel: a decent mouth feel - medium in body with a moderate- to- higher carbonation. Carries the flavour well.

Overall: a pretty decent Belgian Pale Ale, with plenty of quality Belgian yeasts and some fruits and spices. The only real detractor is the truly catastrophic price of AU$150+ for a case of 24 x 300mL (2013), which is pretty close to the most expensive of the 600 beers I have had thus far. I can probably run a list of at least 50 beers that are better than this and cost 30 - 40% less.
