look: 3 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Serving Type - 22oz bottle

Appearance - Dark tan, brown, not much head, or lacing. Kinda bland looking.

Smell - Dark fruits, some malt, chocolate and spices, not alot of smell.

Taste - Very dark roasted malt flavor. Not as many flavors and spices as most quads ive had. A little pepper and chocolate notes in the aftertaste. I get some licorice and dark fruits like plum and rasin. Very surprized how different this quad is compaired to standard quads.

Mouthfeel - Medium thickness and rather light on palette. No way id guess this was 11% or even a quad. Aftertaste is weak and not long lasting at all.

Overall - This is solid, but not a top of the list quad. It almost comes closer to a strong ale then a quad. The dark fruits, roasted malts, it would be hard to guess this as a quad. Pretty good but there are a few other quads that smoke this beer. If you are looking for a different twist on the style, this would be a nice sample.

300mL bottle from Total Wine (Kennesaw, GA). 4.99. Best by 5/29/16- so bottled 5/29/13? Served in a goblet.

Pours opaque, ruddy garnet hued chestnut with a healthy three fingers of fluffy beige. The foam faed to a thin cap that leaves onoy small bits of lace.

Aromas of pitted fruit, caramel, yeast and sugar. Fairly straight forward for the style.

Taste gets a bit more complex than the nose. Burnt port barrel, sweet dark fruit, bitter fruit skins, caramel malts, brown sugar, yeast, slight cocoa, earth, raisin bread and small bite of booze. Flavors open up nicely as it warms.

Creamy feel on a medium body with carbonation that perhaps comes on a little too strong for my tastes. Tangy dark fruit, caramel and yeast finish.

A notch or two above a standard American brewed quad but not quite up to the level of my favorite Belgian brewed. Still, this is a welcome addition to my readily abailable quad arsenal.

A-pours a chestnut brown with a fingers worth of creamy looking tan head that just does not disappear! Lovely!

S-caramel malt, dark fruits and light cocoa

T-taste is very nice! Caramel malt backbone with dark fruit sweetness, cocoa, light hop bitterness, and spices. 11% ABV is not noticeable.

M-medium body, crisp carbonation

Overall I forgot how I do really love Quads and this one was done so well! Highly recommended!

Poured into a tulip from a 12oz regular capped bottle. The color was dark almost completely black with little to no lacing. A fruity smell such as plums, dates, raisins comes through with an overall honey floral sweetness. Upon the first sip the dark fruit presents itself followed by a slight bitterness. Not a terribly great mouthfeel. Seem to be flat. Not sure if I got a bad of
Bottle but the lack of carbonation for a Belgian is severely disappointing.
