Appearance: Pours a hazy cola color. Minor carbonation and sediment visible. Thin beige head that settled to nothing. No lacing.
Smell: Dried fruit including raisins. Mild notes of alcohol.
Taste: Port wine and raisins.
Mouthfeel: Nice and smooth mouthfeel. Round and velvety with comforting warmth from the alcohol.
Overall: I don't drink quads often, but I do like this beer. It is not complex, but has a nice dried fruit flavor. The alcohol is tame, and provides a comforting warmth throughout the drink.

Appearance - Very dark, but seemingly just a very dark red like Coca-Cola. I have seen by far much darker beers but it's definitely no lager. The head was very minimal, but thin and tan. Poor lacing, but could be due to a less than decent poor.
Smell - Very, very malty and some fruity undertones when breathing back out after taking a sip.
Taste - Literally hit me in the face with the first sip. I couldn't you what exactly it is because there's a lot going on in this brew. It tastes bit like figs or cherries to me up front and finished with a pretty strong alcohol finish, hitting pretty hard on the edges of the tongue.
Mouthfeel - Has a pretty full-bodied feel to it and at 11% it starts to feel pretty prickly on the tongue.
Overall - This beer brought a look of disbelief to my face. The smell of the beer made me expect something completely different than I tasted. After you let it warm a bit it only gets better (to a point) and you can taste things that we're necessarily present before. Hope that helps and enjoy!

A: Very dark in color, almost black, but when held to the light some brilliant ruby tones come through.. Not a lot of head, very atypical of most Belgian styles.
S: Malty, with a distinct burnt sugar smell, caramel and molasses come through as well as some earthy tones. Some dark fruit in the finish as well as some chocolate notes, although I usually get a little more Belgian yeast character...
T: Now that is interesting, dark malt character, with an almost burnt to the bottom of the pot flavor- but in a good way. There is a lovely fruity sweetness to it, almost like chocolate covered raspberries. There is a very lovely fruitiness to this, that counteracts the burned caramel flavors. This is one of those beers that each time you sip it, you find something new and interesting.
M: Medium to heavy body, carbonation feels light and fine, although the tickle on my tongue seems to lean towards a heavier carbonation than I feel.
O: Overall I'm not really sure.. seems to have a rather unique flavor, but a touch harsh and a bit sweet at the same time. There is definitely less typical Belgian flavors in this guy, but perhaps that's the grain pushing through. While the taste is completely different, it almost reminds me a little of Duchesse, in a yin and yang type of way.

A- pours a cloudy garnet with a thin, light tan head. Lacing is gorgeous.
S- whole grain raisin bread soaked in brandy. That's about as close as I can get. Very boozy and malty.
T- raisin, lots of dried fig, fresh baked bread. Definitely a boozy finish. The fig flavor really shines throughout the whole thing.
M- definitely full bodied with a warming finish. The carbonation is moderate, but gentle.
O- truly delicious.

Poured from a brown 11.2 oz. bottle. Has a very dark brown color with a small head. Smell is of dark fruits, alcohol, some malts. Taste is complex, dark fruits, yeast, some alcohol heat, malts, a touch of tartness, lots going on here. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.
