Poured into a tulip glass. Two and half fingers of head on a deep brown colored body.
The aroma is a great blend of caramel, apple, pear and other bright fruits.
The taste has a big dose of caramel malt sweetness, some fruit, black licorice and mild bitter finish.
The texture is fairly smooth with moderate carbonation.
Very well done..

Beer is dark reddish-brown with a large tan head. Good retention.

Smell contains dark fruits, raisin and plum in particular. Dry yeast scents accompany the fruit. The yeast cuts the fruit nicely, mellowing the aroma.

Taste contains juicy dark fruit; plum, red grape and raisin. Dry yeast, some spiciness. A bit of chocolate as well. Moderately sweet.

Full bodied, moderately carbonated. Rich and smooth.

Overall, quite a good quad.

Poured from a standard pressure-cap 11.2oz bottle into a snifter in high elevation Kalispell, Mont. Reviewed live.

A- Three-finger khaki head atop a mahogany body. Head is bubbly and active with great retention. Looks appealing and tasty.

S- Rich, decadent chocolate. Dark fruits, cherries. Rich and roasty. What a powerful, succulent aroma. Perfect.

T- Chocolate and dark fruits. Like a rich, boozy cherry cordial. Tasty and roasty.

M- Dry and medium bodied.

O- Great beer. Hits a bunch of high notes.

Deep brown with thin caramel head. Smell is brown sugar, caramel and roasted malt. Taste is mildly bitter, with notes of brown sugar and caramel. Sweet boozy finish with a bit of an alcohol burn on the way down and lingering brown sugar. Feel Is surprisingly light, with medium carbonation and a bit of bite.

Poured from 750ml bottle into two St. Bernardus goblets.

A - A deep brown color with a medium ivory head.

S - Toffee, candied fruits, figgy with some spice.

T - Slightly burnt toffee, spice, bready malt.

M - Well balanced carbonation with a slight alcohol warmth.

This is a great one. It is not overly sweet or syrupy nor is it drowning in fruitiness. The flavors are distinct and inviting. Overall I would put this with the big 3, Abt 12, Rochefort 10, and Westvleteren 12.
