Very informative and well put together. It was a fun tour that felt just long enough to get the grasp of the brewery without going into elaborate detail about the specific beers. It was nice to see the historic side of the company in the pictures and displays.

This is an old historic brewery that has been updated in the 2000's and re branded to some extent. They have a great patio area nestled in a small courtyard between the brewery buildings and serve a limited food menu and their own beers out there. Taking advantage of the weather we sat outside and struck up a conversation with some neighboring tourists from Canada. I really enjoyed their Brugse Zot Belgian blonde ale that was bright and fresh and somewhat hoppy. My wife had the tasty Dubbel and I liked that as well. They have a full service restaurant inside the main building and also offer brewery tours in several languages through out the day. We went on the tour last visit and it is well worth the time--you get to walk across the old copper coolship to see a remarkable view of the city from the rooftop! This brewery is under rated as Belgian breweries go, but I think they have a good set of beers and a great vibe.

"Fun way to blow some time off. Sweet old brewery to say the least. The tour is a well oiled machine." Hard to disagree with any of that.

It was an interesting journey, trying to find this place while at the same time having no clue where it was other than directionally. We finally spotted another city map, went to read it, and noticed we were straight in front of the brewery. Nice.

Not an overly popular line of beers, but probably the easiest brewery to visit in the entire country. The tour was good, and in english. The views from the top of the brewery are solid and it was fun to watch people try to navigate all the stairs within. The tour includes just a full pour of the Brugse Zot, which was better than advertised. We also devoured some bitterballen and cheese out in the lovely terrace. I could have stayed for another, but there were bigger and better spots on the itinerary.

I'm glad we did it - it wasn't in my itinerary, but we just needed to kill a few hours

Fun way to blow some time off. Sweet old brewery to say the least. The tour is a well oiled machine. You are pushed on through. The beer is tasty as well. The highlight was a picture of the next young man in the family to get the brewery. He has a look on his face that is priceless...like "awww yeaaahhh".
Luck bastard!

Brouwerij De Halve Maan was on my shortlist of things to do when I was in Bruges for the day.

I planned on going on a tour, however, we got there too late; this was a MAJOR disappointment.

In fact, we got there about 20 minutes before they were closing. My friends and I sat down and ordered a round of the Blonde, Dubbel, Triple, and Quad. The Dubbel and Quad were my favorites.

The service was good and the ambiance of the courtyard was nice.

Ratings and review notes aside: being in Bruges, drinking Straffe Hendrik (at it's brewery) is something that I will never forget.

Very good beer, and the environment is pretty cool if you sit outside. The inside is clean, and well-lit, though otherwise unremarkable. There were only two beers on tap, though there were several more bottled beers to choose from. The staff was friendly and helpful. Recommended.

I have been to the De Halve Maan brewery several times and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bruges.

Although the tour is very basic in terms of the brewing process, the tour guides are absolutely phenomenal. You get to walk around several areas of the brewery, ending with a free taster.

Be careful, the stairways on this tour can be treacherous for younger/older patrons. I would not recommend the tour for those with young children.

As part of a beer tour group we visited Staffe Hendrik and loved it. One of the best facility tours by far. Top notch marketing across all products.

The food was great and gave us a good idea of Belgian cruisine. We spent almost 3 hours having lunch and it was well worth it.

The gift shop was nice but unfortunately were sold out on a number of things.

If you are in Bruges, you must stop here.
