I would recommend letting this warm up as it improves at room temperature.

The beer offers a rush of spicy rum and sweetness, that almost does not play well with the rich chocolately sweetness that the beer already has. However, the barrel character smooths out the beer's bitterness slightly.

While I much preferred the Marker's Mark, this was a wonderful attempt at rum barrel aging an already fine brew.

Had on tap in a taster size tulip glass.

Opaque black with a thin head. Toffee, chocolate, burnt sugar, toasted oak on the nose. Taste has big sweet rummy molasses, semisweet chocolate, oak, vanilla, roasted malt and espresso. I really like the molasses contribution from the rum barrel. Thick but not too thick, ends roasty and kind of dry.

Good stout to start with, and well aged in the rum barrel. Very nice.

Had this on tap at Beer Junction in Seattle WA. Four oz pour along with a number of other amazing beers.

Appearance: Nice and dark, minimal head but it stayed for a little bit (tough to compare on a 4 oz pour). Dark black liquid, looks good.

Smell: Dark malts, rum (barrel), alcohol, coffee, chocolates,

Taste: Amazing stout flavor, the rum barrel really adds something to it. I am used to whiskey barrels, rum is distinct but comparable I think.

Mouthfeel: I love ten FIDY because it is a tasty AND thick stout, this is also.

Very happy I got to try.
