16 oz can. Pours brown with a medium creamy tan head that retains well and laces the glass some.

The aroma is subdued at first, but opens up - dark chocolate, sweet coconut and a little roast.

The flavor is sweet chocolate and coconut with some roast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth velvety carbonation.

Overall, nice sweet chocolatey coconut porter. A little too sweet for me.

On tap at the Basin Pub in Bushnell's Basin, NY.

Pours a dark black, with a foamy, off-white head, and a little bit of lacing down the glass.

Smells like a roasty german chocolate cake- shredded coconut, creamy chocolate, and roasted malt.

A lot of people around me said they couldn't pick out the coconut- I could pick it out very clearly. The coconut tastes like it's the shredded kind, not the toasted kind, which is fine. Some good chocolatey flavors, rich and dense, with roasted malt and espresso bitterness.

Medium bodied, but fairly full for a porter. Starts sweet and finishes bitter. Very drinkable.

Another big hit from Oskar Blues, they're knocking it out of the park for me tonight.

Can poured into New Belgium tulip glass.

A - Nice and black. Tan head that settled down to a nice coating on top. As the glass emptied, not a lot of lacing on the glass.

S - First it was coffee then it became a nice mocha scent.

T - Dark chocolate and coconut. Kind of like a Mounds bar. Any hop bitterness is hidden behind the bitterness of the chocolate. For some reason it seems these two flavors trade places at time. Sometime the coconut is upfront, the next taste the chocolate is in the drivers seat. Personally, I think I would have entered this beer under the style of American Porter, instead of English (what with the use of the coconut - like Maui's CoCoNut Porter). The chocolate though always lasts the longest of the flavors long after the brew has left my mouth.

M - Right amount of carbonation. A little thick feeling upfront but feels much lighter when it goes down.

O - A great coconut brew. I have had a few and this one is right up there for being one of the tastiest. Might have to get another four pack before they are all gone.
