On tap at Basin Pub in Bushnell's Basin, New York.
Pours a clear orange, with some darker crimson highlights. A one inch head forms, with a good amount of lacing down the glass.
Smells wonderfully full of rye, grass, floral, and piney flavors, just the way a good hoppy rye should taste like.
The taste follows suit. Rye spice up front, like pumperknickel bread with the mixture of rye and malt flavor, with some bitter pine, delicate floral flavors, and juicy citrus on the back end. The flavors mix together very well in this.
Medium bodied, crisp while slightly creamy mouthfeel near the end. Medium carbonation. Very drinkable.
This was very tasty, would like to get another chance to try it if I could.

a fine rye beer here, on tap at their restaurant in longmont, an awesome place by the way, with a great beer list and creative food menu, definitely check it out. this is a reddish colored rye brew, well hopped with the west coast high alpha C types, and pretty darn sturdy all around, one was enough for me, it gets filling and intense, but it fits well in the oskar blues repertoire, and i wish they would can this one (or anything new!). haze brick red color, very dense in looks, not a ton of head on it, but it may have taken the waitress awhile to bring it over, so some settling likely occurred, they were quite busy. spicy rye nose, it must be a large portion of the grain bill on this one. tons of hops in both nose and taste too, cascade or centennial or something in that realm, its leafy and fresh, bitter enough, and plenty loaded with the oils and resins in the hop flower. the texture gets a little dicey on this one, choppy gritty almost from all the rye. maybe i was near the bottom of a keg, but this beer had some real gnash to it in that sense. i liked it a lot overall though, think its an interesting use of rye, a bold one, and again, a beer they should probably release.
