Being a home brewer and really enjoying double bocks but I don't lager however I want to try a "double bock" ale and that's a wee heavy. This one is a strongly recommended wee heavy and I wanted to try it.
A - Strong brown color. Mostly clear. Light khaki head that subsides. Minor lacing.
S - Strong malt aroma with caramel tones. Also light grain notes there too.
T - Tons of malty goodness that coats the palate. The flavor is very similar to a double bock with more staying power and less crispness. The caramel and burnt sugar flavors sit high with the maltiness. No distinct bitterness or hops but is still a very delicious.
M - Moderate to high mouth-feel. Light carbonation. The substantial body makes this brew a delicious finishing beer.
Overall, this is a great drinking beer. Can't have too many but two or so will give you a nice buzz and set you straight with a malt bomb that keeps you wanting to taste the amazing malts.
