This porter (6.4% ABV, 30 IBUs) is based on malt flavors of roasted nuts, crème brulee, cocoa, and caramel, extracted from English and German roasted and caramel malts. Hotbox Roasters then crashes the party and infuses potent, cold-extracted coffee from Burundi and Ethiopian beans and deals out flavors and aromas of dark plums, chocolate, and hints of blueberry.

355 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Black colour, large beige head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee and dark chocolate. The flavour has a slight sweetness, distinct notes of coffee but not overdone, also chocolate and decent hops, hints of roasted nuts. Good beer.

L: Jet black, tan, creamy head.
S: Roasty malt, umami notes (soy sauce-like), coffee.
T: Coffee notes are way less prominent than expected. Otherwise, typical roasty bittersweet porter stuff. Good.
F: Body is medium, carbonation is medium to high. Finish is dry and good..
O: A good porter, but I was expecting a bit more coffee. Still a very enjoyable brew.

"Stovepipe" 19.2 oz can into tulip glass.

A- Black, with a brown, lumpy, frothy head. Retention is great and globs of lacing down the glass. This one looks good.
S- Roast/coffee, chocolate and sweet vanilla notes, with a biscuity backbone.
T- Dark chocolate, vanilla, with a smooth roast.
M- Body is medium-full. Light enough to stay in that porter range. Fairly smooth but with a bit of that roast lingering. Some carbonation tingles the palate as well.

O- Normally not a coffee beer drinker, but this one isn't bad. Not terribly overwhelming like many can be.

A: opaque; very dark brown in color; 1 finger finely pored medium brown head that receded to a skim cap; sheets of lace;

S: bittersweet chocolate with coffee in the background;

T: milk chocolate and bittersweet chocolate dominate, with coffee in the background along with deeply roasted grain; mild to moderate bitterness on the finish;

M: medium bodied; moderate, creamy carbonation; dry finish;

O: nice aroma and flavor; less coffee character than I expected;

Poured from a can into a nonic glass.

Pours dark brown and nearly opaque. Limited head and lacing.

Aromas of brown sugar, molasses, coffee, and faint char.

The brew hits the tip of the tongue with dark sugar sweetness. Hints of coffee and faint chocolate in midstream give way to dark fruit some moderate hopping and a touch of booze. A bit sweet overall.

Well carbonated and only a touch heavier than medium. Very drinkable and drying at the finish.

Overall, a pretty solid porter, but a bit sweet for the style.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Dark brown pour... nearly black with 1.5 fingers of brown head. Nice ring of lacing.

S: Coffee and roast. Maybe a bit of dark fruit.

T.F: Just like it smells. Strong roasted grain flavor and espresso. Dark chocolate and a bit of plum. Modestly bitter roast. Smooth and medium bodied. More coffee comes through at the finish.

O: A well executed coffee porter. Hits all the flavors and pretty much what's advertised.

12 oz can dated...oh, dated 7/25/18. I thought it was '19, no wonder these were on the discount shelf. Well, we'll see what it's like at 18 months.

Deep silky coffee black with a tall creamy head of 3 fingers, receding to 1, with tons of gorgeous lace left behind.

Aroma of crushed coffee beans, some black pepper, and light chocolate notes.

Flavor is full bodied and enjoyable. Wow, what a solid base. And the coffee just piles on top and makes it even more delicious. I get nutty malt, slight crushed ashy black patent malt, perhaps a whisper of charcoal, following with coffee - fruity and vibrant, slightly acidic; suggestions of hazelnut and honey.

Feel is creamy and silky smooth, yet still has a roughness to it that gives the impression of coffee grounds. Very minimal warming alcohol, medium to full bodied, smooth dry finish.

Overall, a fantastic and solid porter. Will buy more when it hits shelves, one of my new favorite porters.

Good coffee flavor in the beginning, but strange after taste later. Almost reminded me of buffalo sauce, even though I wasn't eating anything. Not likely to try again.
