Gubna was bred from Oskar Blues Brewery’s hankering to confront 100+ IBUs by cranking up the complexity of hops by pouring Cascade on top of copious amounts of Summit, then balancing that with a backbone of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt. GUBNA’s post-fermentation dry-hopping with both hops allows this monstrosity to gently coax the citrus rind and grapefruit aroma while providing a rye malt-induced, spicy-yet-round middle, and a brisk, clean bitter finish (10 percent ABV, 100+ IBUs).

Poured from the 12 oz. can into a pint glass.
The Gubna pours a transluscent, light golden yellow as it forms a 1/4 inch white head. The head dissipates forming a soap-bubble ring around the edge of the glass. There is nice lacing.
This beer has the distinct aroma of pungent fresh hops. Lots and lots of pungent hops. There are hints of grapefruit citrus and grass as well. There isn't much of a detectable malty balance until the very end, but it is excessively brief.
The Gubna is very hop-forward. After the initial tasteof beautiful hops, alcohol dominates the palatte. The beer's 10% ABV stands up, front and center. There are complimentary grapefruit tartness and grassy bitterness, and the finish is long and bitter. There is very little malt presence.
The bee has a medium body with good carbonation. Again the alcohol is very present.
As far as drinkability, there's nothing wrong with a super-hoppy double IPA. I'm a hop-head. But the alcohol is almost too present, which makes me want to drink it then move on. Overall, i do like this beer a lot... And, blasphemously, I'm thinking of cellaring it a bit to see how it changes. I know the hop presence will fade, which sucks, but so will the alcohol a bit. I'm curious to see what will be left. We'll see. Anyway, I still think this is a great effort from Oskar Blues.

Amber color with a decent head and lace.
Aroma of floral hops, malts, stinky hops and hints of fruit.
Taste was sweet, mild bitterness, malts and an odd taste I could not really describe to you.
Medium body and carbonation.

355 ml can, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.0%. Orange colour, moderate off-white head. Lovely aroma of piney hops, smells like a pine forest, also some fruity notes (oranges). The flavour is a massive attack of fruity and piney American hops, fairly light bodied and dry for its strength.

Wonderful aroma, thick clumpy lacing. Taste is oranges and other citrus, a hint of cough syrup sweetness, with a smidge of alcohol warmth. Be careful, this one will sneak up on you.
