Can date 3/6/14
A: nice amber and pretty clear, 1 inch off-white head with aggressive pour that dissipates fairly quick.
N: there is some sweet malt, if you are really looking for it. Strong perfume of grapefruit hops. Pleasantly sweet
T&M: close to the nose, a little unbalanced to the hops but tolerable. Grapefruit rind and other citrus tones as it dissipates. Fairly thick body, mouthfeel might be the best trait here.
Overall taste and experience: a very good beer, but falls short greatly at the price point. With so many great beers of this style available, paying 15-20 bucks a four pack needs to be weighed into the equation. Try one if you can, it's a 3.75-4.00 beer if money is no object. If money value is important to you, split a 4-pack with friends.

Pour is golden with white head. Sticky and lingering lace.
Lemon zest with grapefruit and pine in the nose.
Spivey punch in the initial sip. Both from the hops and malts. I love the blend of rye and dark Munich. This really adds to the complexity of the hop bill. Easy drinking with medium mouthfeel and a sharp bite from carbonation.
Some more pine and grapefruit in the aftertaste with a dry enough finish.
Overall a solid imperial IPA. Doesn't blow you away but very solid throughout.
