pours an almost black with alot of fizzy off white head which quickly settles into an even fat finger of light brown head.
smells a bit hoppy. not what i was expecting for the style, but pleasing nonetheless. the mellow cat pee hop balances a pretty roasty beginning.
taste: once again surprisingly hoppy. although not overhopped they do sort of push the roastiness off to the side. once again its very pleasing.
mouthfeel: goes down smoothly enough but hangs around for a while and leaves a definite stickyness towards the back of the throat.

Had this one on tap at the Oskar Blues Liquids and Solids restaurant in Longmont, CO. Pours a medium amber with a pretty decent off-white head. Aromas of dark brown sugar, earthy hops and a hint of coffee. More earthy hops on the palate, along with some caramel malt and a little warming alcohol on the finish. The guy next to me at the bar recommended I don't order this one, so I did, and I'm glad I did.

Served in a pint glass at Homemade Liquids and Solids. Brown, opaque, and hazy, it was pour with very little off-white head. Toasted bread with hints of coffee in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel, with some sweetness and coffee up front and a hint of hop bitterness on the back end. Light carbonation burn. Good balance between the hops and malt. Somewhat thin finish.
