Canned 8 January 2014. Tasted 10 Feb 2014.
Pours a nice clear amber. Two fingers of off-white head, fluffy and pillowy. Good retention and excellent lacing. Outstanding.
Smell started out bright and hoppy, with vibrant citrus. But that's gone quickly, leaving a faint mid-level herbal hoppiness. Well supported by solid caramel malts.
Taste is up and down. At times, I find it chalky and unpleasantly bitter. At others, I find it relatively clean and smooth. Wish I could have more of the latter.
Feel is medium-light bodied. Carbonation is mid-low level, consistent throughout. Nice.
A solid pale ale. I get hints of something really good, but they battle with or give way to less enjoyable elements.
Serving type: can
