Poured into Turbinator from can.

A: Effervescent middle red-golden color. Thin disk lasts all the way down from a one finger nice pour. Slight haze, slight lacing.

S: Lemongrass, pine, standard west coast odors. light malt peeks in and says "hi". yeast is for fermentation only, apparently.

T: Yes. that's one good canned PA. follows nose, with bittering on side of tongue an pine, lemon, slight grapefruit.

M: creamy and light yields to a gentle assault of bitterness on the edges. Almost has a spiciness like a rye, but more indistinct. The spiciness is the grapefruit, not rye. It flip-flops on the feel between spicy/carb/malted milk balls.

O: This is a staple go-to when cans are the required de-rigour. With all the other cans available now, this is the one I know I will find , along side Yeungling cans if this is out, when all there is available is substandard canned swill otherwise.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12 oz can.

Pours a with clear copper color. Small amount of head.

Wonderful light aroma.

A solid pale ale with a malty/biscuity mouthfeel. Bitter finish, but nothing overwhelming; resiny and piney.

This is an easy-drinking beer, but with no outlandish tricks like crazy amounts of hops or alcohol.

A 355ml can with a BB of March 2014. Acquired a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. The label calls it 'a mutha of a pale ale' - I expect great things.

Poured into a tulip pint glass. A rich golden-amber hue with visible floating sediment and light carbonation. Yields a decent head of white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a surface layer. Some lacing. Aroma of intense, spicy hops with a powerful resinous character. Hints of pine, weed, caramel malt, earthy yeast, stewed leaves and a touch of harsh cardboard in the background. Packs a punch.

Tastes of overwhelming aromatic hops with a formidable bitter finish. Notes of pine resin, dank weed, stewed hops, mild grass/hay, caramel malt and earthy yeast. Faintly sweet, but possessed of a strident, spicy bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and piquant, with a nice, creamy body. Hops oils stimulate the tastebuds, though the carbonation could be amped up a little. Highly astringent, followed by an aftertaste of bitter hops and pine resin.

Good stuff - even if it is rather potent by pale ale standards. SNPA this is not. Looks OK, though a more persistent head would be nice. The aroma and flavour beat your senses into submission with a huge pine overdose, while the malt takes a backseat. Decent body, but enhanced carbonation would improve the texture. A beer that won't be ignored; definitely one for the hop-heads. Worth sampling if you chance across it.

I got hooked on Dale's Pale Ale by a neighbor who let me try some at a party. I've always been a hop head and Dale's fits the bill perfectly. The bitterness / hoppiness isn't overwhelming but yet there's still a good bite and lightness to it. I also love the fact that it comes in cans. It brings back fond memories as a kid when I would sneak sips of my parents' canned beer.

Poured into my English pint glass.

A- A cloudy yellow with a very light white head.

S- This beer smells amazing. It is sweet, citrus, and hoppy.

T- A lot like it smells very sweet, citrus, and a couple other hop notes.

M- Very creamy and a lot of carbonation

O- A damn good pale ale. It's very different for a pale ale but it's great.
