The beer pours from the 16 ounce can, an orange-laced amber color with a decent cap of foam. The foam sticks and slides down the glass. Hops jump from the aroma. Pine, orange rind, grass, raw honey meld with a touch of toasted caramel malt. On the palate, the beer has a coating, oily aspect, but not to the degree that it is undesirable. Those hop oils contribute much of the flavor profile with grapefruit, pine, a hint of grass, but the malt is no slouch here. The slightly sweet caramel malt does its job by counteracting the hops for a tinge of balance. This is a nice beer. If this is a tweak of Dale's Pale Ale, it's a tweak in the right direction.

Born on date : 4/24/14 - Enjoyed 7/27/14
A: Honey colored with 1 finger of white head. The head settles relatively quickly. The can includes a very obvious, and readable, born on date on the bottom!
S: Piney and floral. There are mild hints of citrus. As it warmed I got more grassy smells.
T: Sweet on the front of the tongue. The finish is piney and grassy with just a hint of bitter.
M: Smooth and easy to drink. The carbonation is low.
O: Great overall beer. All of the parts play well together. Only a slight hint of the 8% ABV. This beer is complex and has lots of flavors going on. Also the bitterness is kept in check - which I like.
