Poured hard into a tulip, comes to a beautiful, white, finger worth of creamy foam head. The beer itself is a rich copper, somewhat orange, with a full body. actually looks thick!
Aroma is very hop-forward, with a punchy citrus bitter scent, backed up by a sweet, buttery malt. Smells like it'll be strong!
Flavor wise, you get a classic hop bomb, with your brilliant bitterness, and your piney citrus mixture . Backing that is a malt presence that, unfortunately, is just a little sweeter than I prefer. Caramel and butter profile, but entirely too sugary, that it's almost overwhelming alongside the hops. A decent sipper, but a little TOO diabetic.
Mouhfeel is decadent and almost syrupy. Still clean and refreshing like an IPA should be, but also thicker and with very fizzy carbonation. Good feel, all around big qualities.
This is a pretty decent IPA, especially if you've gone awhile without a big beer and want something to spend some serious time with. The overbearing sweetness is the only real downfall, and even that has it's charm when you're in the mood. It's a beer that's meant to take a while to drink, and not one for quick knockbacks.

Born on date : 4/24/14 - Enjoyed 7/27/14
A: Honey colored with 1 finger of white head. The head settles relatively quickly. The can includes a very obvious, and readable, born on date on the bottom!
S: Piney and floral. There are mild hints of citrus. As it warmed I got more grassy smells.
T: Sweet on the front of the tongue. The finish is piney and grassy with just a hint of bitter.
M: Smooth and easy to drink. The carbonation is low.
O: Great overall beer. All of the parts play well together. Only a slight hint of the 8% ABV. This beer is complex and has lots of flavors going on. Also the bitterness is kept in check - which I like.
