Really a stunner. Has the nice, cloudy orange color. The head forms in a cascading fashion and is as thick as you'd like. Amazing retention. Huge meringue like craters and valleys. Large and small bubbles with an almost crusty lace.
The scent is a combination of English malt and Pacific Northwestern hops, citrus and pine standing front and center. A bit of orange rind rounds out the smell.
One of the best IPAs I've had. Lots of citrus in the taste, enough malt so you don't ceviche your tongue, and plenty of pine so the flavor never fades.
Yes, it's bitter, but that's the idea. It's not a palate crusher because it's well balanced. A lot of acid mixed in with malty sweetness. Almost full bodied, it's got plenty to keep the palate busy. The pine grabs your tongue and won't let go.
Just off the top of my head, one of the three or four best IPAs I've had. Not quite as sweet as Zombie Dust or Pliny the Elder, but this beer is right up there. Easy to drink despite solid bitterness and a good amount of alcohol. The tall boy can is just a bonus.

Born on date : 4/24/14 - Enjoyed 7/27/14
A: Honey colored with 1 finger of white head. The head settles relatively quickly. The can includes a very obvious, and readable, born on date on the bottom!
S: Piney and floral. There are mild hints of citrus. As it warmed I got more grassy smells.
T: Sweet on the front of the tongue. The finish is piney and grassy with just a hint of bitter.
M: Smooth and easy to drink. The carbonation is low.
O: Great overall beer. All of the parts play well together. Only a slight hint of the 8% ABV. This beer is complex and has lots of flavors going on. Also the bitterness is kept in check - which I like.
