A dark, caramel-y hue, almost reddish. Murky. Definitely can't see through this one. One finger of creamy head, impeccable retention. It just doesn't go away. Good lacing. Has the citrus, grapefruit hoppy smell but not overwhelming. Nice bitter kick in the taste without showing the alcohol, also not too overwhelming, which refreshingly combines with a thicker, grainier maltiness leading to a medium body, not-quite-chewy-level mouthfeel.
Overall, a very solid slightly higher-gravity IPA that I will definitely return to if I have the pennies for it.

Born on date : 4/24/14 - Enjoyed 7/27/14
A: Honey colored with 1 finger of white head. The head settles relatively quickly. The can includes a very obvious, and readable, born on date on the bottom!
S: Piney and floral. There are mild hints of citrus. As it warmed I got more grassy smells.
T: Sweet on the front of the tongue. The finish is piney and grassy with just a hint of bitter.
M: Smooth and easy to drink. The carbonation is low.
O: Great overall beer. All of the parts play well together. Only a slight hint of the 8% ABV. This beer is complex and has lots of flavors going on. Also the bitterness is kept in check - which I like.
