L (4) - Nice, DEEP amber color. Big fluffy head on top. Almost too much.

S (3.75) - Not much aromas really, both hop or malt. Didn't smell bad by any means.

T (3.75) - Meh . . . You can tell theres a nice malty base beer to this. But more of that really weird, sharp, not-quote-alpha bitterness. Almost like earwax. I like high IBU IPAs and this is not that taste.

F (4) - Nice enough carb and fairly drinkable. No issues here.

O (3.75) - I don't know what it is about OB, but their beers are just off to me. I mean, I don't mind it, but I don't know if I like it as much as others.

Poured from a 16oz Tallboy can.

Appearance is pale orange with 2 inch head. Lacy head remains.

Smells resiny, floral with high malt character.

Taste is a little off. Very heavy on the malt side. Not too unlike Dale's Pale Ale other than extra booze.

Feel lingers, very resiny, citrus characters.

This one is a little frustrating...I like Oskar Blues, but both Dale's Pale Ale and Deviant Dale's were dissapointing. This one drinks ok, but may land slightly above average for me.

More of a malty than hippy IPA, but very drinkable and quite tasty.

Pint can poured into a nonic pint glass

A: Pours hazy deep orange amber with a creamy light tan head that settles and laces fairly well.

S: Dank, citrus and light tropical fruit, some pine, a bit of herbal spice, and a little caramel malt sweetness.

T: Citrus hops, grapefruit, light tangerine, a little tropical fruit, mango, some spicy herbal dankness, a touch of pine, all backed with caramel malt sweetness.

M: On the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Very solid, very dank IPA.

L- Pours an amber-red color with a thick head that dissipates to a frothy head.
S- Great. much pine with a little citrus.
T- Heavy on the bitter pine, with much funky dank. Nothing that reaches out and slaps you.
F- Nice. Good balance.
O- Not bad, but was expecting a little more due to the fact of how much I enjoyed Dale's Pale Ale.

Taste/Finish/Body:

Overall:
It's a very good American IPA.

16 oz can poured into a tall tulip glass. A beautiful clear amber color with a huge frothy head that slowly dissipates and leaves some lace. Smell is piney and dank with a little floral herbs. Reminds me of Cannabis. Taste is nicely balanced between big sweet malt, dank floral hoppiness, and bracing bitterness. Mouth feel is a bit thick, nicely carbed, and slightly oily. Overall, a good AIPA.

Part of my beer ratings go as such: "Would I drink it again tomorrow?" For Deviant Dale's I say tomorrow and every day after. Seriously tho, it's what an IPA should be: crisp, refreshing, soothingly bitter, better w/ each sip.

For a strong ipa it went down like a session beer. Aroma-some piney notes, orange peel, grapefruit, some onion/garlic bitterness. Taste was a real surprise. Great mild beer. Citrus after taste. No bitterness at all.

Not much surprising to offer. You know what a strong IPA is like. The characteristics are all here. Simply speaking, I had this on tap, it's one of the best IPA's I've had to date. Very good beer.

Canned 12/03
Drank 12/25

Clear amber body and a long lasting lacy off white head.

Pine, dank, herbal, citrus, seems a little Summity with onion and garlic. Slight caramel malt base comes through.

Medium bodied and bittered. Smooth and carbonation is on point.

Solid IPA and a little different than most I'm used to as it lacks a lot of the fruitiness.

Pours a chill hazed amber color with a big cream colored head that falls slowly and leaves some nice sheet lace down the glass.

Aroma is ripe tropical fruits, sprinkles of pine needles, light floral notes. Good hop presence on bready malt base.

Taste is big hop bite, dank hops lots of citrus rind bitterness, with pine notes mingled through out. Good bitterness on this one even though its not fresh. Malt base is just enough to hold the hops.

Mouthfeel is a big medium with carbonation that is lightly peppy.

Overall a pretty descent IPA, big hoppy brew with a good a good kick.

Very very bitter. I don't know if it's the malts or what. It's pretty harsh. It's like a crappier stone ipa

Edit: great smell. Hoppy initial taste but not much going on. There is no balance at all

Tall boy into a pint glass. Good 2 finger head. Nice lacing. Dark, amber colored brew.

Smell is primarily hop florelness. Not really citrusy at all. Dry biscuity smell.

Taste is interesting. No where near classic west coast IPA at all. Good carbonation up front. Non-descript but well balanced up-front. Major hop florelness with a tiny bit of lemon. The hop is primarily bitter. I get a bit of funk at the end... Not a skunkiness, but more of a onion sharpness or a fermented food flavor. It's a weird IPA. I guess the draw is the hop style... Not very refreshing... It's a hoppy beer, not a citrusy beer.

Not my favorite IPA. If you like citrusy IPA's stay away. ABV hidden well. I could see it paired with offal, like liver and onions. I give it a 82/100.

Gotta try this again. You had it on tap at Mason Lounge, but it wasn't an environment conducive getting a solid impression from it.

Poured from a chilled tall-boy into a tulip

A = Coppery orange, nice 2 finger creamy-orange head, thick lacing up the side of the glass.

S = Rich, full nose of citrus and pine, tropical fruits and sweet malt.

T = Big juicy pine and orange hop bite, intense bitterness that leaves you craving more. There is some nice sweetness from the caramel malts to balance it out, and there are notes of sweet citrus, grapefruit, and tropical fruits, perhaps mango or papaya. Alcohol is undetectable.

F = Slick, wet and oily, goes down like water.

O = A deliciously potent IPA, one that I highly recommend.

This is a great beer. Period. If you're thinking about getting it... do it. I feel torn between this and G'Night. They are very evenly matched. I appreciate the pint can. One of these guys after work and you're good to go. If I could always find it at $10 a 4, I'd make it a regular.

Deep golden brown in color with lots of minuscule sediment suspended within the body. Brussels lacing. There's easily a bit over an inch of tightly packed beige foam on top. Nice aroma of herbal hops and light malt is present. The flavor is moderately pungent herbal hops and delicate light malt. The body is a touch chewy and moderately carbonated.

A: medium amber and clear, with a few fingers of tan head above

S: caramel malts and piney hops, brighter notes of citric pith, flowers, and chewy grains

T: dank hop action with pine resin and dark citrus, chewy, caramelized grains underscore

M: medium body, ample carbonation, smoothly bittering, slight chew

O: a really nice IPA right on the cusp of being a double - runs darker in color than the typical IPA, but retains a crisp profile of hops with a slightly toasty malt profile for balance

I did not enjoy this beer at all. The bitterness is incredibly unpleasant, and contributes to a horrible flavor. I got a four pack, would not buy it again. I ended up giving the last one away because the beer was so bad...

Darker amber color with a thick beige two finger head with good retention and leaving laces.
Somewhat malty aroma with notes of bread, mild grapefruit and grass, and caramels. I was expecting it to be more intense and citrusy.
Flavor with predominant notes of caramel malt, lots of spices and herbal and earthy hops, pineapple foam from juice, citrusy more toward peel rather than fruit, pine and tea leaves. Dry aftertaste with a long lasting bitterness.
Medium towards full body with mild carbonation. Alcohol of 8% is well hidden.
A bitter IPA on a maltier body, this felt more of a DIPA to me. I hope had more of the citrus character of their APA, which is a reference to me. That said it is still well crafted.
