Can of GORDON, my first Oskar Blues beer.
Pours an attractive clear reddish amber colour. The offwhite head is an inch thick but dissapates to a small cap, but leaves some lacing behind.
I took a quick whiff of the can and got a shot of pine. The glass held even more pine. Straight up pine.
The taste is really quite good. Really strong malt backbone here that is present throughout each mouthfull. On top of that are some solid layers of piney hops. It sounds simple and it is, but it works. Its a nice beer and a hell of a surprise for a red. Alcohol is very well hidden.
Mouthfeel is smooth and slightly sticky. Carbonation is bang on.
Drinkability is very good. It goes down quickly and thank god they come in 4 packs because your sure to have some on hand.
Overall - a great surprise. Reds are usually such a bore!

A: poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, red brown colored with a large foamy offwhite head that lingers leaving good lacing, clear
S: heavy on hops, earth, pine, citrus , grapefruit, breast malt sweetness, tangy and mouth watering
T: pine bitterness up front, bitter at first with a lemon quality, sweetens to honey and slight raisin flavors, hint of heavy alcohols and esters
M: medium to full with good carbonation, slight alcohol presence
O: nice balance of bitter mixed with quite sweet maltiness
