As soon as I crack open the can I am blasted with a piney hop aroma.
Apperance: Pours a deep orange with a thick two finger head that dissipates very slowly. Smell is fantastic as it pours. Head is lumpy and thick as it slowly dissipates. Lots of sticky lacing.
Aroma: Grapefruit, pine, hop oil, citrus, brown sugar. Wow, can already tell this is going to be a fantastic beer.
Taste: Sweet and malty with a mostly fruity and slightly piney hop finish. Brown sugar and sweetness slowly gives way to some delicious hops. The delicious grapefruity, flavors seem to come out more as the beer warms. Just a fantastic balancing act of a strong malt and hop presence.
Mouthfeel: Perfect. Beer is full bodied and slowly brings all malt and the hop flavors over the palate. The 8.7% alcohol is hidden well.
Overall, a superbly balanced brew. Like the extra sweet malts that are present since the hops balance it out nicely. A truly world class beer but it is quite expensive. Over $15 for a 4 pack of tall boys.
