On tap at Barley's Taproom in Greenville, South Carolina.
Great appearance with a red-orangish hue and a hugh, pillowy, sticky head sitting firmly atop the brew. Aromas crazy with spicy, citrusy, pungent hops. Loaded with bitter goodness. Soft mouthfeel with an eveloping balance. Rich malty base was a solid base for the hoppy goodness. 85 IBUs? Wow, where? How? So well balanced? Well balanced to the N-th degree and the alcohol is so well hidden. One of the more well balanced "big" beers I have ever, ever had. By far, one of the better brews, all around, I have had in recent memory. Well worth the price of admission, despite the price tag

A: poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, red brown colored with a large foamy offwhite head that lingers leaving good lacing, clear
S: heavy on hops, earth, pine, citrus , grapefruit, breast malt sweetness, tangy and mouth watering
T: pine bitterness up front, bitter at first with a lemon quality, sweetens to honey and slight raisin flavors, hint of heavy alcohols and esters
M: medium to full with good carbonation, slight alcohol presence
O: nice balance of bitter mixed with quite sweet maltiness
