Served in a willibecher at Firkin.

Domo arigato. ...Sorry... Anyway, this stuff pours a nigh-obsidian topped by a finger-and-a-half of light brown foam. The nose comprises fruity coffee, chocolate powder, and roasted malts. The taste brings in more of the same, with the coffee coming through less fruity (though not entirely un-fruity) and a bit stronger as well. A bit of char comes in for good measure. Robust, indeed, peoplez. The body is a lithe medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a damn fine robust porter, one that gives beers like FBS a run for their money. Good times.

On-tap at Small Bar Division. Surprised no one else has reviewed this beer. Served in a tulip.

A - Tan foam settles to a collar, wisps, and spotty lace. Dark brown body.

S - Roasted malts, char, smoke, a bit of fruity yeast, baker's chocolate, and a surprising touch of alcohol (although it's hard to tell if it's appropriate without a listed ABV).

T - Very roasty, with semisweet chocolate, dry-roasted nuts, and light notes of char and fruity yeast in the periphery. Very well-attenuated, with minimal alcohol to taste.

M - Smooth, medium body. Chewy texture, pleasant moderate-to-low carbonation, and no discernible alcohol here either. Very easy to drink.

D - A very well-crafted robust porter. Would happily drink this again, and had no problems with my 13oz serving before moving on to some Baudoinia. Hope Oskar Blues ramps up production of this one.
