Like all things truly Jersey, 077XX makes the most in balancing through its accentuation of extremes. Inspired by the west coast IPAs we love, we added a thump of hops to a dynamic malt profile and chose a yeast to drive these two further than they wanted to go. Throw our water into this mix and you will find dank green resinous hops popping over orange, mango and papaya aromas, with just enough sweetness of body to make the long finish a pleasure to have around. Drink 0’Dub when your night matters.

Exactly what you want from a DIPA. Tropical aroma with a dry finish that allows you to have many in an evening. Super drinkable and the malt doesn't come out if they age for a while.

It's a five. I've been drinking it for 2 years now and it's better every time. It's now been three years and I stand by this rating it's the most drinkable double I've had.

Officially my favorite Double IPA. Everyone argues over Heady and Pliny and they are obviously there for a reason but everyone has their own palate. This one is it for me. Even for a New Englander.

Appearance - Pours a solid light gold almost orange.

Smell - complex hop aroma with hints of citrus and pine on the end.

Taste - Light upfront hops start to come in strong as they have a very strong finish lingering on the palate afterwards. Pine and Citrus linger.

Mouthfeel - Light mouthfeel froward then going into more of a fully hopped flavor mouthfeel into the finish.

Overall- I sat down and compared heady topper to 07XX. both amazing i their own way. Carton makes some amazing beers and they are to watch out for in the future, so happy they are in my home state!

This IPA was a nice find--a local brewery, and one I can find served at many establishments. Good sharp taste; nice amber, copper color; presents a good head. Fantastic taste.

I often find myself drinking a session of IPA's and returning regularly to the 077XX. It is one of my favorites and an NJ IPA that can hold its own among the best! If you can get hold of one, do try it out.

Delicious. If you like good IPAs then give this one a try as soon as you see it! I hate JAF's (Jersey Ass F#@%'s but they sure made a good double IPA. Cheers

Poured out of a can, love the cloudy orange look of this beer, nice frothy head. Lot of different taste going on here, fruity mango, orange, just a perfect DIPA! One of the best beers I've had out of a can! Goes down smooth, watch out!

Glowing light apricot produces a fluffy white head that fades but laces really well and coats the glass. Vibrant pop of citrus bringing notes of orange, tangerine, grapefruit. Taste is a wave of those sweeter citrus flavors, orange and tangerine. Grapefruit comes through strong followed by orange and tropical notes on top of a cracker light malt profile. Finish has a pop of pine and strong grapefruit bringing a bitter finish. Lighter side of medium body with great carbonation and a drying finish make this, dare I say, a refreshing DIPA . Truly a world class DIPA that can and should be in the conversation of the elites.

Why doesn't this beer have a cult following yet. I got this in a trade so I could add New Jersey to my list. Little did I know I was getting this tremendous fruity, dank, hop bomb. The nose on this is amazing I poured a 16oz can into a glass and could smell it when I walked across the room. Fruit and floral scents carry through the air. The taste is just as good but there is a real dank taste at first then it gets sweet and fruity. This is truly amazing.

This beer is a beast! what an awesome offering from Carton. The beer rivals Abrasive and is a hidden gem in the crowded field of DIPA's. Hop blast with a very slight malt backbone. An incredible beer that leaves you wanting another. If your a DIPA man this is a must have. The appearance is a bit murky ( like BOAT beer ) but in the end I will take this anytime.

Bottom Line: Nears legendary status!

On tap - Filled a 32oz Crowler Can

As soon as a cracked the can I could smell this beer. Wonderful aroma of grapefruits, oranges, mangos, some dank pineyness. A little citrus.

The taste follows perfectly. Big ruby red type grapefruit taste, grapefruit rind, oranges, mangos, tropical citrus, dank resiness pine. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Slightly creamy mouthfeel.

Overall this beer is absolutely delicious. Possibly my favorite DIPA at the moment if not top 3 for sure. I'll be filling up Crowlers/Growlers as much as possible.

Had on draft before and have a 4.25 numerical rating, but this review it's based on a can canned give days ago. WOW

A: hazy, sunset orange with a 1cm head despite pouring straight down the middle. Well developed, sticky lacing that just won't quit

S: Subtle grapefruit rind, malt, and waxy aromas. Nose is the faintest aspect of this beer. Smells refreshing, but somewhat underwhelming. There's something else here though - almost tropical mixed with creamy

T: this is a top tier DIPA. GRAPEFRUIT RIND WITH CREAMINESS ON THE FINISH. It almost has a vanilla or butterscotch quality that starts off light and smooth and amps up into grapefruit rind. Finish mildly bitter and after taste it's full and malty. Wow.

M: perfect for a DIPA. less carbonated than most but very fitting. Reminds me of Jai Alai white oak.

O: Can I say wow again? This moved ahead of Pliny the Elder for me. Suspect that it's on par with Hi-Res (but obviously different flavor profile). Hasn't quite dethroned Heady, though

077XX has got the perfect look that one wants for an Imperial IPA- toasted orange with plenty of carbonation and great head retention. The aroma is very exciting and bright with bursts of zesty orange peel. In the flavor, it's evident that there is a formidable malt foundation, but that is felt more in the body than in the taste itself. We get more of a west coast style attack of bitter resinous hops front and center. It seems sweeter than what one might expect from this description though, it's certainly different and more complex than say, something like Palate Wrecker, and quite balanced as advertised. Overall, I would pit this against any top rated Double IPAs in the country! Score one for New Jersey Craft Beer! Carton, we are proud to have you making superb craft beer locally.

From a can, pours a clear gold with a nice white foam head. Tastes of lots of citrus with a nice piney hoppy finish. Definitely let's you know your drinking a nice dipa with the hop profile. Personally, I think the carbonation is just right. Overall, O Dub makes me proud to live in NJ. World class.

First beer from Carton, a growler filled at Super Buy Rite.

Appearance: Very nice 3 finger head. Kinda soapy looking. Hazy golden orange, really pretty nice looking IPA.

Smell: This took a while to put my finger on. Mango, orange up front. Some danky earthiness that holds back some of fruit flavors that entrances this entire beer.

Taste: Holy drinkable. Starts off a bit bitter but is actually alot more tame. The hops don't come across as bitter as alot of west coast doubles tend to.

Mountfeel; medium bodied, crisper than most IIPAs

Overall: it'll be a hit when more people can try it if they start mass producing and canning.

Poured from a 1L growler into a tulip glass

A- Hazy, golden hue with no more than one finger's worth of a white, sea foam head. Over the course of pouring out of a growler, the sediment becomes much more prevalent. (3.00)

S- Equal parts dank, citrus and tropical. Pine resin is immediate, orange/grapefruit rind is secondary and then some tropical fruits like mango and passionfruit shoehorn their way into the mix...delightful! (4.75)

T- Dankness of the imperial kind...these boys have done their homework! With 077XX, Carton can certainly claim to be the most dank and tropical East Coast DIPA that begs to flirt with the best from the West Coast. Piney & tropical all supported by enough of a malt backbone to keep it balanced. Although the bitterness lingers, you are not more than a few strides away from your glass encroaching on another quaff. (4.75)

M- Being an exclusively draught/growler offering (this review as a result of a growler pour), the carbonation is quite resplendant...another testament to Carton's careful handling of their draft-centric releases. Since my first experience with 077XX more than two years ago, they continue to brew consistent and impressive beers. (4.50)

O- For me, this is the closest thing to Stone's Enjoy By IPA that you can get...year 'round! Carton continues to deliver and after almost 3 years strong, the consistency of 077XX stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the best IPA's out of the West Coast (or any coast, for that matter)! (4.75)

A glorious can of this was shared with me today at the Plan Bee Savage release.

Pours a slightly dark yellowish orange, with a one inch head, and a lot of lacing.

Smells way juicy and stuff. It's bright and fresh, lots of citrus, orange, pineapple and peach. I'm getting a bit of pine, too.

This is one of the freshest tasting IPA's you'll ever find. So juicy, tons of citrus, some grass, a good amount of pine resin, and no real malt character at all.

This is medium bodied, really crisp and dry, with some slight lingering bitterness. It's insanely drinkable.

This is a game-changer. One of the best IPAs.

A - Clementine orange. Pretty hazy but can still see through the glass. Massive white head and carbonation coming up from the bottom. Lacing stays for a good while.

S - Gloriously smelling double IPA. I smell strong apricot, orange, and lemon. Doesn't smell as hoppy as most doubles do, but is a refreshing change. I actually can't stop smelling it!

T - Wow this is a bitter beer. Has my tongue tingling! Strong back of the mouth bitter is followed by a coating of grapefruit goodness.

M - Very oily. Got a mouthful of resin.

O - So happy Carton Brewery is only a short drive from my house. Perfect west coast style IPA.

The beer comes in a light orange color.

The aroma explodes of mangoes, kumquat, bready malt, and melon. Candy sweetness.

The flavor follows of fresh tropical fruit, orange peel, melon, lots of grapefruit, and then a drying and medium bitterness of grapefruit peel on the finish. A bi of sugary sweetness up front complimented with a heavy dank quality throughout.

A truly exceptional IPA that is defined by new age hops.

Take two parts nuggets nectar, one part lagunitas IPA and throw in a little bit of stone IPA and you get 007XX. It's a very well made beer with medium bitterness very floral and fruity. It's an excellent drinking double and would be close to a perfect blend of a east and west coast IPA just could use a bit more bitterness, but it has all the characters I like in a double a floral smell a tropical fruit sweetness and a swift bitterness sting at the end. Good job carton bring respect back to the jersey shore.

Pours a filtered, golden-orange color, with a big, fluffy white head.

On the nose, the beer reveals a great mix of dank grass and juicy exotic fruits, blending perfectly together. Lime pulp is the most dominant hop allegory in this, gently coated up by kiwi and fresh cut orange. This creates a fantastic hop profile on the nose, evoking the thought of visiting a fruit booth, while getting slightly overwhelmed by its aromas, when entering the store. Its lemon qualities do a big part of creating such an intriguing nose, partly because of its pure fresh- and juicyness, partly by the crackery malts, which lend even more depth to them.

Drinks very creamy, although it has a lively carbonation to it, which gets recognizable during the beers finish, adding a mineral quality to the juicy hops. This creates a very pleasant mouthfeel, while hops and malts wrestle for supremacy.

Tastes of dough white bread malts, which soften the immediate lime impact by adding a smooth tone to it. Limes turn juicier, more crisp and more bitter though, evolving to a pleasantly fresh hop explosion on the palate, toned down immediately by cakey malts. After that initial hop burst, malts take over directly after the swallow, weaving a shielding bubble over the tongue, by introducing calming toffee and biscuit. This great blend has to make way for an even grassier, lime dipped hop assault, resulting in a slightly mineralic, fruity and bitter aftertaste.

I am blown away by the greatness of this beer. It appears to be very focussed, almost minimalistic, while being extremely well balanced, and perpetually evolving. The changing flavors of the beer divide themselves into separate stages, utmost clean, versatile and different. Mouthfeel is the cherry on top, crowning the beer by exhibiting a perfectly smooth drinking experience.
