American Pale Ale (APA) |  4.20% ABV

Notes/Commercial Description:
Described by the brewer as more of an American Pale Ale. It's not an India Pale Ale.

Boat Beer is designed to be complex enough to merit drinking a few without being crippled by alcohol. Kolsch yeast and German malts are combined to be crisp and refreshing, while a generous amount of American hops have been added to keep it remarkable. Expect it to dance out of the glass with a whack of grapefruit and open into a crisp, stony tangle of white and yellow fruit with pine and moss notes. An IPA for everyday drinking, drink boat beer when you are thirsty from softball, fishing, or explaining why your team is best.

Can from trade as an extra. Thanks! Pours hazy yellow with a tiny fizzy head that disappears quickly. Fresh lemon peel and onion hop aroma and very light pale malts. Flavor is light pale malts with a nice sweet citrusy hop character, some hay. Some juiciness. Pretty flavorful. Ther German influence is definitely there and it is almost like a super ultra hopped up pils, but finishes extremely clean. Light plus bodied with medium plus carbonation. Lost a couple points on appearance but this is good stuff.

Pour is a haze pale golden yellow with a tight white head. Nose is extremely hoppy, tons of citra hops with a grapefruit and tropical punch and light pale notes. Taste is a clean blast of citra with a stronger grain presence. This has quite a strong hop punch, lots of grapefruit and pineapple, Well carbonated and fairly dry with a moderate bitterness through the finish.

Picked up a 4-pack at Collier's in Cape May. The 16oz can poured pale with a slight haze and a short white head, it looks like witbier without the yeast mixed in. The aroma is spicy with big juicy hops The body is dry with a biting cracked pepper finish—so very drinkable and satisfying to a hop head. There are mild floral and fruit notes that slip into citrus rind. Overall, a great session beer, but be ready for dry hoppy goodness on par with an extra bitter saison.

Picked up several of these lovely 4 pk - 16 oz cans on my last drive over to the Garden State; cool cans, and being an avid boater, the perfect beer for me! Have been enjoying these slowly until I can grab some more!

A: Light straw - yellow, slightly hazy with nice frothy head with a good pour down a pint glass, very attractive!

S: Lovely - piney, hoppy, tropical fruits - mango, pineapple, etc...very appealing!

T: Out of sight freakin' delicious! If this is not the perfect sessionable boat or outdoor beer, I do not know what is! Very drinkable, perfect amount of hop bitterness and nice bready malt to counter the lovely hops....love it!

M: just right...Mr. Augie Carton should be commended for this one for sure...not too heavy, just great drinkability - and you can have several and not feel slammed by alcohol or hops!

O: I love this beer, want a case of it the next time (later this month thankfully!!) I am in New Jersey...wish it were distributed to the Buckeye State! My only beef (minor) was the cost was $10.99 / 4 pk at Joe Canal's store I found it at...would love to try this on draft....perhaps a visit to Atlantic Highlands is in my future?

Truly dig this beer, you will too, if you are lucky enough to get your hands on some!
