A: Pours a clear gold with a thin, lingering white mousse. Little streams of effervescence are clearly visible in the glass.
S: Aromas of biscuits, pine, spruce, lemon, and grapefruit clearly mark this ale as an IPA. Compared to many American IPAs, the aromas are softer and more floral, making this ale come off as very inviting. It's a clever effect, really.
T: A tart entry reveals notes of biscuits and minerals before notes of lime, lemon, grapefruit, orange rind, pine, and spruce make their presence known. The finish is fleeting and dry with pine, lemon, lime, and grapefruit flavors dominating.
M: Very light-bodied, but also firm and dry. Carbonation is crisp, almost lager-like. This is a super drinkable little ale.
O: There is still a part of me that does not want to consider this an IPA of any sort due to the low abv, but if one puts this beer in a category based solely on its flavor, an IPA it most surely is. Imagine a cross between the firm malt backbone and mineral-laden mouthfeel of an English golden ale and the resinous, hoppy qualities of an American IPA, and you get a fairly accurate description of this beer. Well worth a try.
