Recently stumbled across my notes from The Festival 2012. Lets do this!
A - Poured a very, very nice golden hue that was crystal clear with a good sticky half inch white head that faded to a thin blanket.
S - Gaah, blood orange galore here! The typical bready malts are here along with the usual pilsner hop aromas, grassy and floral, and then WHAM citrus packed blood oranges. Very crisp on the nose.
T - Taste is just what I was hoping for, just like the nose with tons of blood orange notes up front. After that it goes back to being a pils with nice bready malts, noble hops and a good grassy finish. Delicious.
M - Mouthfeel is spot on for a pilsner. Crisp and clean.
O - Overall this is so damn easy to drink. I'd love a growler of this one...this may be the first blood orange beer I've ever had.

Waitress said this was an ipa. At first smell, I knew it was no where near an ipa. Nor did she say this was a collaboration with Mik. I guess that's why it was $8 or 9.50 a glass.
Pours a white head leaving sticky lace. Color is a clear vibrant golden bronze.
Aroma: A lot of bready malts. The hop profile reminds me of a pils (at the time not knowing it was a pils). seems grassy, earthy, floral, and noble. The blood oranges show nicely.
Taste: Blood oranges up front. Citrusy and fruity. Again, bready malts. Very pils like. Noble hops. Very grassy.
Mouthfeel: Citrusy and clean. Light bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Ends fruity.
Overall, claimed to be an ipa, this tastes nothing like. Definitely tastes like a pils. In that case, it is awesome. Very easy to drink. I enjoyed this one.

Served in a shaker pint glass at McGee's.
I know when I think "Czech pilsner", the first thing that comes to mind is blood orange. Well, I guess that's what the creative minds of Mikkeller and AtG are for. Anyway, this stuff pours a clear orange-brass topped by a half-finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises orange rind, white bread, sharp grass, and a bit of leafy greens sprouting up in the background. The taste brings in more of the same, but the bitterness inherent in the citrus and the hops begin a turf war the likes of which haven't been seen outside of Rio. It all ends the same way, though: pain for those poor souls caught in the middle, i.e. me. What's worse, the vaunted blood orange doesn't bring all that much fruit to the table, which, who knows, might have actually helped the situation. The body is a light medium, with a light medium carbonation and a wet feel. Overall, an interesting idea that just happened to fall a little flat with me.
