22 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Another new stout to me from Against The Grain Brewery. The label claims a 7.00% abv, and says "brewed and bottled at Against The Grain Brewery, Westminster, Maryland". Cool bottle art, but I'm not entirely understanding the "concept" if there is one. Anyway.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - Pours a solid jet black body with two fingers of creamy mocha head. Scattered strands of lacing.

S - The smell is good, but it doesn't have a whole lot happening - cold coffee, some char / roastiness, mild cream / lactose, vanilla and milk chocolate aromas. It's a pleasant aroma, but it could stand to be a bit more in your face.

T - The taste follows the nose - dark coffee bean roast, chocolate, mild cream / lactose, mild tart dark fruitiness - raisins, figs, dates. Lightly metallic / mineral tasting on the finish also.

M - The feel is smooth and creamy enough, but the carbonation is a bit coarse. Medium bodied. Still very nicely drinkable for the style and the moderate abv. It feels a little thin though, at 7.00% abv.

Overall, it's a nice stout, but it is slightly above average at best. Doesn't really bring anything new or exciting to the table. A simple, solid, and traditional example of an American made milk stout if there ever was one. Nicely done, but not something I'd seek out again.

A- body is pitch black with a light tan head

S- nothing too prominent on the nose (might because my nose is a bit stuffy with all the pollen in the air), creamy, roasty, chocolatey, taking in a deep drag.

T- creamy, chocolatey, very roasty but not an overpowering finish and aftertaste.

MF- Seems like a standard milk stout, not a thick and full bodied as a stout or imperial stout, very little carbonation, creamy, not too watery.

O- very solid milk stout. You won't be disappointing if you can snag one from a bottle shop.
