A: The beer is very dark brown in color (black when viewed from afar) and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin light beige head that quickly died down, leaving a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of chocolate, nutty and roasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, except that each of the flavors—particularly the nutty malts— is more pronounced. Slight hints of bitterness are perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I didn't get any of the honey in the smell or taste, but this is a really nice example of an English Porter that has some complexities. It is very easy to drink.

On tap at TJ's in Paoli. Pours nearly black with a slowly settling tan head and sticky lacing. Very chocolatey, roasty nose with hints of honey sweetness and toasted bread.

Delicious flavor here; well balanced between dark chocolate, caramel, and roasted malt notes; again the honey is hinted at but not at the fore and the overall sweetness is held very much in check. Very subtle hop bitterness ties things together but stays in the background.

Medium body, moderate carbonation, very silky, smooth, and creamy feel on draught.

I really dug this one. It's packed with flavor, everything holds together harmoniously, and the mouthfeel was superb. Drinks a bit bigger than its 6.5 ABV.

Poured at a good temperature with a large, thick, foamy, light tan head that mostly settles down but lasts the whole glass and a little lace. Color is a clear brown red with a few bubble trails. Aroma is a very fragrant blend of honey, roast, malt, hop. Flavor is the weak ling here; not a lot going on. Carbonic tang up front followed by bittersweet and a little of the nose qualities. Body n carbonation are average. Finish is like flavor, of average length, and fairly forgettable except the aroma.

First had: on tap at Farmers' Cabinet, Philly, PA

As I rushed to meet up with my wife, she saved me a bit of this, so I had a starter when I got to the bar. Dark brown color with a few stray bubbles remaining on top by the time I got to it. Sweet aroma of honey and dark malts, moderately roasty. Similar traits in the taste, sweet with honey and caramel, melding with the dark malts for an almost molassesey taste, light notes of herbal hops and/or heather spice. About medium-bodied, clean, and quite downable overall.

500ml. Slow pour from the narrow neck bottle. Very dark brown, large bubble layer of cream head. Laced all right.

Aroma, more caramel, molasses and chocolate than roast. Minimal roast. On the sweeter side.

Taste, not as sweet as I was expecting really. Malty, caramel, chocolate and peat. Honey sweetens it up a bit, but there is some roast.

Lighter side of mid bodied. Maybe just a tad more carbonation than I'd prefer, but it still drinks pretty easy.
Thought this was a good representation of the English style.

On tap at the Cask, Pimlico

Pours a very dark brown verging on black with a thinnish beige/off-white head

Honey is clearly apparent from the nose as is roasted malts, but fairly subtle in this respect, also present are cocoa and roasted grain/nut

I was impressed with the flavour of this beer and found it well balanced for a honey porter. I often find (yes - I know it says so on the tin so's to speak!) that they are over-honey'd and too sweet. This was spot on in terms of not overdoing the honey

Moderate carbonation and a relatively thin body for a 6.5% porter

Overall a decent beer and a honey porter that has the honey flavour spot on, if I could make one tweak to this beer I would add a little more depth to its body!

I had this on-tap at Max's. Poured into a sample glass.

Appearance: Pours a very dark brown color with some light coming through at the edges. There is a layer of off white head that goes away and leaves a small amount of lacing.

Smell: Mildly sweet with some roast. There isn't a whole lot going on here.

Taste: Sweet and roasty. There is a very strong presence from the honey. I could have used more roast, and the roast that is there could be smoother.

Mouthfeel: The body is on the thin side with a lot of tingly carbonation. The finish is dry.

Overall: I really enjoyed the honey in this beer, but I thought the rest was lacking. A bolder smooth roast flavor and some dark chocolate notes would have helped.

A – Nice, dark cola color with very dark brow highlights. Creamy head with great retention and nice lace.

S – Great hazelnut, raisin and booze on the nose. Almonds and honey come out if you inhale deeply.

T – Hazelnuts and caramel. The center is loaded with a delicious, deep roasted grain flavor. Booze warms a semi-sweet finish of roasted malt and molasses.

M – Light body that thickens on the backend of the profile and leaves a thin coating on your palate.

O – A solid porter on the nuttier side of the style.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a dark brown color and a thick consistency. There was a huge, tan-colored, creamy, long-lasting head. Good lacing.

S: A somewhat underplayed aroma of malt, coffee, and honey.

T: Tasted of coffee, malt, a little chocolate, and some honey in the finish. This is a solid and never overbearing flavor. The addition of honey is never intrusive and adds a good dimension to the beer.

M: A well-carbonated beer with a crisp, dry finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This is an interesting and well done beer. Very easy to drink.

Beer made with Danish Heather Honey, served in a small snifter at a local beer bar. Beer is dark brown and really hazy, kind of looks like dirty water, with a lazy low head of small bubbles, some lacing, low retention.

Aroma is sweet and a mild roast, nice some floral notes come through as well. Now I'm excited.

Very good little porter here, the honey thins out the body a bit and the floral notes from the heather come through as well. There is a mildly dry finish and a little bit of roast, a great beer.
