In Rome wandering.
Lighter amber/orange pour. Minimal white suds.

Aroma has some caramel and booze. Has that "Heineken" smell that I usually equate to a skunked beer.

Taste is actually not as bad as the aroma. Kind of like a sweet Coors, with considerably more booze to it. Nothing to balance the sweetness but the weird Heineken thing again.

A bit over carbonated and pretty difficult to drink. So I pounded it down to be rid of it. Tried once, that is enough.

I do like Heineken on draft, it doesn't have as much of the poor qualities.

330ml bottle from local bar in Calabria, Italy. Pours a deep crystal clear golden copper with a medium lasting white head, some lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, some dark fruit notes, dates as it warms up, with some yeast and alcohol esters. Taste same as aroma with some sweet bitter flavors, and a bit of spicy notes as well. Palate is a medium body with good carbonation. Finishes with some sweet caramel malt, dark fruit, yeast, dates and a lingering sweet alcohol and nutty flavor. Overall nothing really stand out for this brew, an average ale.

Purchased at a corner market in Rome across from my hotel, poured into a hotel glass:

A - Medium Amber color with thick head.

S - Alcohol pervades the scent.

T - If you can get past the high alcohol taste, it does have some hoppy notes that make it more paletable. Unbalanced however.

M - Medium bodied, well carbonated.

D - Not great.

like everyone else i tried this in italy, in rome. the villa borghese was across the street from my hotel and i'd buy a few bottles from a vendor in the park and throw them in my back pack for later that night. the appearance is good. it has a good head. color is boring transparent gold. taste has some bite to it but you get use to it soon enough. an ok beer that does the job in a pinch. i.e.... your on vacation in rome and good beer is very, very, very hard to find.

Every single bar on the Amalfi Coast seemed to have this as their default strong beer, this review is of a 33cl brown bottle drank in the main square of Ravello.

Mid-pils colour, this strong lager looked OK, the wispy white head reminding me of the typical lager/pilsner covering found all over the world, even though this one had come down from Scandinavia to the Med.

Malts over hops in the smell and taste, although the alcohol content was never far from the surface throught the tasting. The beer was fresh (BBD 01 Aug 2012) and had good carbonisation, as you'd expect in this style of beer.

Overal: it had too much alcohol for it's depth of flavours and body feel, the sort of beer that gives you a cracking headache if large amounts were to be consummed.

330ml bottle

A- Golden to amber in colour. Medium white head that shows very little retention but leaves some lacing

S- Strong caramel malts and some alcoholic notes

T- Caramel malts again and a faint hint of hops, with some sirupy corn notes that remind me of an adjunct lager. Alcohol is quite easily detectable

M- Medium body. A lively carbonation brings some life. Decently warming from it's alcoholic feel

O- A very easy drink and overall a decently enjoyable beer

Bought in Italy [imported from Denmark]. One of the better beers I found in Italy and many locations have it. Not as strong as I thought it would be, smooth, good head, malty overtones.

From my notes 6/11/07 pours a one-finger white head that quickly to a ring, leaving some lace. Crystal clear amber color. Malty hoppy nose. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor is slight maltiness and slightly cidery, smooth. €2.80 ($3.84) for a 330ml green bottle from Autogrill Badia Al Pino Ouest, Italy.

Got it from Italy.

A-Dark gold with lots of bubbles. White foam, lasting minute or two.

S-Nothing special,some malts,sweetness and a bit metallic touch.

T/M-Very drinkable, not so strong in the taste or in the head. On the first high carbonation, warm and bitter aftertaste.

O-I would say this is strong beer with lower strong taste.

Bottle poured into San Miguel stemware at La Pirata pizza, La Puerto, Ibiza Town, Ibiza, (faux)Spain. Reviewed from notes.

A: Two finger head of fair cream, nice retention, and nice thickness. Gold-yellow (but not straw) colour.

Sm: Clean barley, malt, and surprisingly some nutty hops. Hmm.

T: Malty. Very malty. Finish is syrupy. Poorly balanced. The alcohol really hits you hard on the tongue. Terribly built.

Mf: Too thick and syrupy. I gulp it down awfully.

Dr: High ABV, and a very low price especially for an import. That said, it's barely drinkable and wouldn't even make a good beer for getting bollocksed with the lads on a night in. Leave her on the shelf, lads, and get some proper beer.

My wife brought this back from her trip to Italy and France recently. 11.2 oz bottle with a gold label that covers the entire bottle. 7.7% alcohol level and label should keep the beer well. Poured into a pils glass it forms a small but steady white head that leaves spot lacing. Golden body with healthy carbonation.

First drink has me thinking adjunct quality all the way. Corn and Corn syrup mixed with some spices and a huge alcohol smacker. Green apples make up a sweet fruit backdrop.

Notes: Ughhh This is a high alcohol flamer at its finest. This is an adjunct lager that has tons of alcohol. Crisp, Clean, Refreshing, Interesting? forget about it. I see they have changed the style to Euro Strong Lager which is exactly where I"d put it as well. Avoid.
