In this hop-heavy town, it surprised us how our least hopular beer became our most popular when it was on draft. Malty and rich in flavor with a dry bite, this is a truly (ob)sessionable ale. Single malt and single hop so what's the BFD? Exactly that: it's a beer for drinking.

I stray away from weisen type beers, blond whatever. But this was served to me at a family members home and I was surprised, it was really good. Must have a German over there at that brewery. German's know how to do wheat beer and this one is right up there with them. A good any event beer to share with your colleagues, family or friends. (340 characters)

16oz can

appearance: served in a hilliards can-pint, cloudy blonde body, nice fluffy white head

smell: toasted grain, faint lemon

taste: Not a style I particularly gravitate to as I'd prefer to have a nice lager/pils to a blonde ale if i'm inclined to go light. pale blonde malt, spicy bread, dough, very mild hop presence

mouthfeel: light, light bitterness

overall: OK - just wanted to try one, probably wont have another despite my frequent presence at hilliards (469 characters)

Poured from 16 oz can into becker.

A: Hazy, straw blonde, fizzy head, a little lacing

S: Sweet, grassy, a little metallic

T: haven't had a ton of blonde ales. The aroma and taste remind me of quality lagers I've had; simple maltiness, crisp, metallic.

M: Crisp, prickly carbonation, average finish

O: Not bad. Sessionable. Would be good to enjoy while watching sports or a nice keg to have at a party (405 characters)

Poured from 16oz tall can into a dimpled mug.

Appearance: light golden hue with a touch of haze and a strong effervescence. Head is almost two fingers of frothy white foam with decent retention. Nice!

Smell: sweet malt with a light fruitiness and a light graininess. Actually well-composed, except for a kind of over-sweet dankness which sort of permeates everything. Not horrible, but not entirely welcome either.

Taste: taste is similar to the aroma, but the dankness works in an entirely different way. Kind of a wet-spent-malt graininess, which balances out the sweetness in the flavor. One of those things where the bouquet works better on the tongue than in the nose. I like that this isn't a go-nowhere, simple, too-light blonde ale, but something that's actually challenging. I'd drink more of this.

Mouthfeel: light body but a big and well-integrated carbonation that creates a big, mouth-filling if a bit evanescent, creaminess. I like it.

Overall: this beer works for me. A challenging blond ale in a 16oz tallboy? I'll definitely have it again. (1,071 characters)

A Poured a deep yellowish color with great carbonation leaving behind a nice white cap which resedes slowly leaving some faint white bubbles and lacing

S: Nose is not so desirable but not horrid either. Notes of grass, honey, citrus and sulfur.

T: The initial taste is a bit honey, little citrus, some grains. A sordove lingering like metallic note is noted about midtaste witha subtle bittering. The finish is light, dry th a lingering bitterness

M: Light bodied, perhaps a tad overcarbonated.

O: Pretty average. Initially I had the score higher but the more I drank the less I actually liked it which i found odd and troubling for a sessionable beer and I am a fan of the style. (685 characters)

Poured into straight pint glass. Poured a very lightly hazy golden yellow (honestly, it more like a Pils than their Pils does), ooh wait a second, I just poured the last few ounces into the glass, and it poured out a very cloudy yellow, a bit yeasty perhaps, and definitely not Pils like. Don't know, but maybe can conditioned? Anyhoo, The beer poured with just 1/4 inch of white head that very low retention and lacing.

The aroma was a nice blend of grain, malt and hops, very smooth and well balanced. On the tongue, the beer had a smooth, earthy taste upfront, with grain and floral hops int the middle, and a very slight citrus hop tang on the finish.

The body was smooth and even, and there was a nicely dry finish. Drinkability was very good, the beer went down quick, smooth and easy. Overall, another very nice brew from this brewery, and a can that will go into my outdoor activities cooler. (902 characters)
