Had on tap at Whale Wins. Review from notes.
A: Pours a hazed dark orange/copper color with one finger of off-white head made up of large bubbles. Great head retention which left behind some nice lacing.
S: Some nondescript fruit upfront with some grainy malt and light caramel in the middle. Faint grassy note near the end.
T: The flavor is slightly sweet, again with a fruity undertone with faint grass as well. Light caramel and toasted bread on the finish.
M: Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty smooth and easy drinking.
O: Don't drink California Common beers very often, but this one hit the spot with dinner. Easy drinking and a light flavor profile that complimented food well.

Chrome Satan (aka "Chrome Santa" during the holiday season) - Hilliards take on the California Common amber lager
Rich amber body - nice creamy beige pillow atop. Roasted nut, caramel, grass, toast, herbal hop presence. A pretty easy drinker, but not my favorite Hilliards beer. Paired nicely with the Wizard Cheese Truck's grilled cheese offerings on this fine saturday night.

16oz : mason jar
Hazy, coppery red with a foamy, off white head.
Tasty, though fairly simple grassy, grainy, floral character in both the aroma and taste.
Medium body, fizzy, foamy carbonation.
Nothing complex, but still an enjoyable, well done beer.

A: Poured a deeper burnt but glowing orange color, no cloudiness and a big white cap rests atop of this beauty. After a few sips and a few minutes the cap fades leaving some bubbles and spotty lacing
S: Nose is nutty, Earthy, grass and some whiffs of caramel
T: The initial taste is refreshing and clean. A blend of caramel and bread crust meet the palate with a subtle dusting of grassy and light citrus hops but the hops really played backseat as it should for this style. A moderate Earthiness in the flavor. Finish is clean, easy, refreshing no hop bitterness
M: Light to light-medium in body, somewhat crisp and clean.
O: A good representtion of a style I generally do not prefer. I'm not sure why I went for it but I did and enjoyed. A quaffable beer and probably my favorite beer from this brewery.
