Pours a cloudy rust orange, not much head but looks really sticky. Subtle lacing and alcohol legs.
Smells of a freshly peeled orange with that great mango/pineapple. Nice grassy note mixed in.
Taste hits with that nice caramel malt loaded citrus, grapefruit and tropical fruitiness. Slight grassy/herbal note. Huge hop bite seems to hit midway. It's a really sweet dipa which I feel helps cut that bitterness and mellow it out with the candy malt notes. After taste is grapefruit hops with some slight burnt brown sugar notes.
It's fairly sticky with a medium body. Feels moderately carbonated which lends to this a nice sipping DIPA.
Overall, I can't wait to try this again, especially canned. I will definitely update this review with added thoughts because right now this is seeming to be a great example of a west coast DIPA with that hop bite.

Appearance-Amber with eggshell foam out of a 16 ounce can.
Smell-Grass, Strawberries, Raspberries, Bitters.
Taste-Follows the nose with a light cream on the end palate. Sort of like a strawberry creamsicle.
Mouthfeel-Nice weight for an IPA. Heavy but not overwhelming. Finish is a good length.
Overall-I wasn't expecting much but I think this is my favorite I've had from Golden Road. I love the shift to a light mouthfeel on the finish. Nicely done.

Christmas Day and a Better Weather IPA.
Pleasantly surprised on this one, my peeps. A decent amount of juice, the bitterness was ripe like a guava picked from the equater... Hell, Raul is diggin' this like the government is digging into your pension!
I wouldn't exactly say that I am "feelin" in, but I'm into it well enough.

On-tap at Rock & Brews, El Segundo, CA
A: The beer is slightly hazy light amber in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that died down and left a bit of lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of citrusy hops—oranges seem to stand out in particular—are present in the nose along with notes of pine resin hops.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but the pine resin hops seem to stand out a little more in front of the citrusy hops. There is a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the contrasting citrusy and piney hops in the beer as the smell and taste seemed like mirror images of each other.

Sixteen ounce can dated 10-26-13.
A: Pours a clear orange with a solid 1.5-inch slightly off-white head which fades to a thin cap and yields spots and splotches of lace.
N: Citrus (mainly grapefruit) dominates here. Floral with some herbal and caramel malty notes.
T: Citrusy with some sweet caramel malts. Perhaps I should have checked the can date more closely.
M: Medium body and semi-full carbonation. Mildly bitter and dry finish. ABV is noted but fairly well hidden.
O: A good and balanced Impy IPA.
