Pour thick black with thick dark tan head.
Chocolate, coffee, and toasted cereal aromas.
The rye really comes through in the flavor and adds a sweet dryness that gives it distinction and complements the cereal flavors very nicely.
Big palate filler that wraps the tongue and leaves a nice long impression.

I'm typically not much of a rye fan, but this porter won me over. The rye is present but not overpowering. The highlight is the mouthfeel and the drinkability of this hefty porter.

Pours black as night.

A nice chocolaty sweet aroma.

Taste matches the smell's profile but exceeds it every way. The rye is delightfully available without being overpowering.

What a beautiful lustrous mouthfeel, I would give it 6 if i could.

Overall this is a really outstanding and special beer from a brewery that usually concentrates on session beers. (539 characters)

On tap for the 2nd Anniversary event at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, CA.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, rye, and cocoa powder. Taste is very much the same with a mild roasty bitterness. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good porter with a nice rye presence, especially in the taste. (497 characters)
