More on the golden side of amber. A brief head poured in the St. Bernardus globe. Very fragrant with flowery and piney hops, even more than the flavor would suggest. This is one of the benefits of cans-- pull the tab and you get that jet-powered puff of hop oils right up the nose.
Light bodied and fairly refreshing, if you're looking for a bitter quaff. More grapefruit than anything else. Quite bitter aftertaste. This seems to be the standard powerfully hopped IPA style, whatever coast or brewing hot spot you care to name. Malt is insignificant. It's just a really big Blonde with a resiny and pine-soaked mane. From the 16 oz can bought at Bottlecraft in San Diego.

1L Growler, filled 9/8/13, drank 9/19/13
A: Pretty thin clear pale yellow orange color. Still carbonated. Full two fingers of bright white fluffy head. Leaves some sticky lacing.
S: Big grapefruit and citrus. Pineapple. Astringent piney hops. Smells thin on the malts which I like.
T: Nice punch of hops right up front. Big pine and grapefruit astringency. Thinner malt bill than I was expecting which normally I enjoy, but here it just kind of falls flat. Finish is dry and clean. Easy drinking.
M: Thin medium bodied.
