From the 16oz can in a snifter. This decent little milk stout pours
a dark blackish brown with a decent head of khaki foam that
subsides to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and show some nice
light lacing. Nose of dark cocoa, light cream, touches of dark coffee,
and dark roasted malts. Flavors exceed the nose by a fine presentation of
dark roasted malts touched by dark cocoa, cream, vanilla, light char, subtle
dark fruits, and light coffee. Nice mouth feel; medium body, medium light
soft carbonation, and finishing faintly dry.
Overall, a solid little brew!
Cheers and thanks to Justin from work for this nice little brew!

Had Count Nibula poured from pint can, label stamped "MFG 09 23 20," delivered from Indiana to Tennessee by my daughter, into nonic pint.
The light-tan head piles up finger-perfect, but tops a disappointingly deep-brown beer, and leaves little lace despite decent retention. Mild aromas of roast malts and some dark fruits lead into a little chocolate. On drinking, there's a little chocolate, but not much smoothness, and the flavor is mostly roast malts joined with some hop bite for the finish. Count Nibula looks and drinks more like an acceptable Irish Dry Stout than a chocolate milk stout.

Poured form the tall can into an imperial pint glass.
A: Very dark cola color, hazy but a bit thin. Head was light tan, leaped up to several fingers quickly but then fizzled out just as fast, down into a small layer floating on the surface.
S: Bittersweet chocolate and roasted malt. A slight smokiness in there.
T: A bit more bitter than I expected, heavier on the roasted malt than on the chocolate. There is a sweetness in there toward the end but the creamy character is somewhat missing or more subdued.
F: A bit more thin with a slick residue remaining for a bit.
Overall, this was more of a standard stout than anticipated. It's not bad, but maybe a bit misleading, as both the chocolate and the milk characters are not front and center.

This was the last of the four beers that I picked up in Indiana when I was out there late in '18. I had a few of those before but of course, took a while to get around to reviewing them on here. While this wasn't bad, it didn't quite feel like an English Sweet/Milk Stout as the roasted notes had me wondering a bit. Sure, this was enjoyable and easy to drink but at the end, I was wondering where the lactose and sweetness were!
Not a bad pour to this as it looked and was as thin as coffee with a small, tan head topping everything off. Only a dashed line of thin lacing stuck around on my pint glass once I worked my way through this as the aroma was equal parts coffee and roasted malt. Some milk chocolate and cream came through but those were more prevalent in the taste as this was certainly not true to form. Coffee creamer and smoke could be felt as I was finishing this up with the end result being a beer that I couldn't quite pinpoint, even though I did enjoy it...
Not a lot of booze in this as this almost felt like a Breakfast Stout when it came to this beer's heft. While this wasn't a disappointment, I just felt that this wasn't quite categorized properly on here. Dated 10/17/18 on the edge of the label, this held up well over the last year and change but it needed more chocolate and cocoa nibs to live up to it's name. Fine for a nightcap or a dessert, this was so close to being so much more!

Black in color with moderate light penetration. There’s a fingernail of beige around the rim and most of the top. In the aroma there’s a touch of roasted barley (which seems totally out of place in a milk stout), light smoke, and milk chocolate. I’m tasting milk chocolate, smoke, and a touch of bitter roasted barley. The mouth is fairly smooth and creamy.

16 ounce can, no dating on it that I noticed. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like milk and dark chocolate, roasted malt, cream and a bit of coffee. Have to say the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, with milk/dark chocolate, roasted/burnt malt, cream and coffee flavors. I think it's a bit more roasty than sweet, but I'm not complaining. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit slick and smooth with a good amount of carbonation. Easy enough to drink! Wish I would have bought a 4 pack instead of just a single, I think it's an enjoyable stout. I'll have to try more of the Fountain Square brews the next time I come across some.
