I was told by the bartender and waitress that this brew is a winter seasonal on test in the summer. Adn was also told it was very "spicey". What the heck--I tried it.
Presented in a chalice, dark amber color, a bit cola looking, reddish tints. Head was marginal, lingered around the edge.
Smell...well it smells like chirstmas. A big whaff of pine and juniper. A very herbal smell, almost like spiked eggnog without the egg. A bit biscuity.
Taste: I swear this is sage, rosemary and thyme beer. Mix in some slight floral and glazed donut. Not sweet, though. The hops remind me of an IPA, but the herbs speak of winter. A bit of nutmeg in the finish. A busy brew, to be sure.
Tastes good, but it's a bit rich. A 1/2 pint is enough. Gimmie something a bit less hectic.

Nice start but finish not too exciting. 2017 version from bottle.

Brownish-orange body; thin, fizzy head. Strong pine sap aroma. Black licorice and anise flavors; ginger; banana; brown sugar and cinnamon; flat sweetness overall. Medium body yet feels thin and watery; rather sweet finish.
A fair yet middling holiday ale. There's a lot of good aroma and interesting taste yet the appearance and mouthfeel are pretty weak. The overall residual sugars and resulting sweetness also border on being treacly. It's worth a try.

Dirty brownish orange with a finger of light tan foam. The nose is spruce and orange, clove and cinnamon, and toasted almonds. Tastes are malt, dried apricots, rye bread, and molasses. The finish is oddly sweet and dry. This is kind of watery but sticky like Koolaid. This beer seemed to be a mish-mash of flavors that never did meld.

Copper hued with vibrant carbonation. Brussels lacing. A quarter inch of off white head rests on top. Aroma of ginger and perhaps lemon is detectable. The taste is comprised of light malt and ginger. The body is creamy and thick.

2014 version... A spicy, hearty, higher-alcohol winter warmer is just what the doctor ordered when a snowstorm moves into the area. Done and done. They go through this stuff very quickly on tap, but luckily I was able to get a 1/2 liter bottle at my table (usually they just sell these to-go), so all was good. Glad I finally managed to get my hands on this beer.

Deep amber-orange color with thin one-finger foamy head. Lacing is missing...
The nose on this one is pure Christmas. Tons of spruce pine, spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel, fig, spicy!!! Amazing complexity; nearly too much to handle.
Pine, nuts, grape, berry, cinnamon, creamy fizzy carbonation, well placed back-end sweetness is light yet pronounced.
If Christmas had a flavor, this beer would be it! It's nailed and goes much appreciated. Tons of smooth spice. For being an absolute spice bomb, it's done well and is very drinkable for what it is. Nice work B&B!
